Hi PP community!
I please to announce, I've just finished a very small widget plugin for Wordpress.
The idea is to have thumbnail displayed on your blog.
It's quite simple, the first version 0.11 is available at

If you need help, don't hesitate, I'm here ;)
Cheers,

I found your plugin and have installed it. I am interested in displaying thumbnail feeds from my pixelpost v1.4.3 photoblog (www.golfclubpix.com) on one of my site running wordpress v2.6.1 (www.equip2golf.com). I would like to locate the feed within the sidebar similar to what you have done in the sidebar of your plugin home page
How do I configure your plugin to do this? What is the inline code that I need to place within the sidebar? Is there somewhere where you can configure the size of the thumnails?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for testing.
You are right, I hardcoded my own PixelPost thumbnail size into the plugin.
I remove it and now it's your PP thumb size that should display.
All you need is to update the plugin by downloading the new version (0.12)

I have downloaded the new widget and when I activate it within Wordpress, it adds it to a new sidebar (sidebar1) and does not display any thumbnail images (just shows the header) nor does it show my original sidebar content. I am not real familiar with how Wordpress's widgets work so I might need to learn more there. Or since I have hard coded most of my sidebar.php, I might just need the code segment that goes directly into the sidebar.php file that will pull the latest updates from my PixelPost site.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for your time.

Can you give me the feed url you configured ?

Not sure why my last reply didn't post. Here is the RSS feed URL:
http://www.golfclubpix.com/index.php?x=rss
I have not configured it. I am not sure how to do that. When I add the widget to the dynamic sidebar via the Wordpress admin, the only thing that is displayed is the widget title. The rest of my existing sidebar is not there I guess since the content was not widgetized (sp?). So this is why I thought if I had the correct RSS feed code I could just adding to the existing sidebar.php file and not use as a widget.
My apologies if I am not clear here. I am a relative newbie and learning.
Thanks.

You have to configure the url of the feed here from your big left menu Settings > pixelpostRSS.
You should have a screen like this
http://www.digitaladventures.fr/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/wordpress-pixelpostrss.png
And just after, it should appear on your sidebar.
I tried your feed on my own blog, it seems the links to the images are broken: http://www.golfclubpix.comthumbnails/thumb_20090121000704_scottycameron1_2008pgashow.jp g
You have a missing slash somewhere.
Could you check on you Pixelpost admin > Options > URL (check if you have an ending /)

I was missing the "/". Not sure how I could have over looked this. I have added it and the RSS URL appears to be functioning correctly. When I add the widget is displays properly.
I was unable to see the screen shot that you attached.
The only configuration options that I see under the Settings > pixelpostRSS is the RSS feed URL and the number of images you want to display. Is there somethig else I am missing?
This works as it is supposed to when used as a widget within wordpress. Is it possible to configure/use this same code on a non-wordpress site?
I appreciate everything.

Nice to hear everything fine now. My screenshot was not perfect but you setup everything correctly.
For a non Wordpress site, you need to get the WP library (mainly magpie) and it's doable if you know a little bit PHP.

Very nice! I've got it setup on dakwegmo.com now. I had been using one of the simple pie widgets, but this one lets me keep the full sized images in my feeds.
One question though... why did you add style="margin:0px;" to each image tag? Wouldn't it be better to create a class for those that can be edited in the style sheet?

Good catch.
I will update the next release with a proper CSS class.
Thanks for reporting.
