View Full Version : Resizing main images on page
Anyone know how I can resize the main image on my PP page? The image is very large, even when I crop it in an external image program. The thumbnails work fine though.
I know it's easily done on an HTML page. Thanks!

what do you mean it's large even if you crop it in an external imaging program?
if you crop the image between a width of 600 and 750px you have a nice size which should also display well on a smaller screen resolution for your users.
you can obviously resize using the width="" inside your <img> tag but you DO NOT want to do this as your users will still be loading the full size image - plus, quality will be lost. do all your cropping to the exact size you want in photoshop (or whatever you use) before you upload! what you see in your imaging program will be what you see in PP.

as JSpurling said, the real dimension of the image should fit with the dimension, the size-attributes in the <img-..HTML-tag
if you crop the image to the size of 400 x 300, the img-tag should have the "width=400" and "height=300" attributes , otherwise the image will be resized by the browser...
if the image has bigger dimensions than the img-tag, then the big image will be loaded by the browser and resized by the browser which will give bad results...
You're right, I cropped it in an external program and it looks normal now. I'm not sure why that didn't work the first time.
