View Full Version : Pictures not showing

I have visited a couple of sites that use PixelPost and the images are not appearing.

One of them is http://www.fourthplace.org/photoblog/ which was an OT in http://www.pixelpost.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16&start=75. And the other one is http://www.chilanga.org/fotos/

I was watching the sites with FF, and tried also with IE. And no pictures with both of them. But I have the Norton Firewall, if I disable the firewall, I can see the pictures. Why is this happening?

Greetings.

they all display fine for me, i use mcaffee firewall though, so i cannot attempt to recreate your issue. Very odd, because until today I was unaware of anything like this...

I know that this will depend on the configuration of each machine. I wanted to make the comment, because it doesn't happens with other pblogs.

Thanks.

Thanks for bug report. Do you have any clue about why this happens?

is this only happening with photoblogs with "dynamic content", I mean, where the photos are linked in the "parameter-syntax" http://www.photografitti.de/index.php?showimage=242 and not like static pages? http://www.photografitti.de/2005/05/31/242.htm
I am sure it is like this, because loading "parametered content" is something difficult with firewalls

another argument to continue with mod-rewrite of the URLs :o

i just binned my copies of norton. and my copies of sophos (which was too much effort to keep uptodate manually) - no firewall here and i feel fine! :P

ha, you play with fire!

At least use a very simple firewall (no, not WIN XP!!!!), but maybe zonealarm, combined with an ever actualised antivir-program

I use that combination and I feel free :P

I see same problem with photos in FF 1.0.4 ENG but I don't have software firewall on my machine. I've got Permit cookies plugin and I'm wondering if it don't cause the problem.

mcafee personal firewall is very very very very nice...i installed it over a year ago, a 2 year liscence...ive never touched it once after the first week while it was getting to know my routine on this computer...except to trace IP's

does anybody know if my router might act as a firewall?

More or less all routers have firewalls. One of them better other worst.

If you aren't using DMZ function then you have 50% of real firewall :P

well i'm sure it will work as a good firewall then - as my uncle who set it up is a bit of a security freak!

<td width="500" valign="top"> <p><a href='index.php?x=browse&category=1&pagenu m=1>1</a> <a href='index.php?x=browse&category=1&pagenu m=2>2</a> <a href='index.php?x=browse&category=1&pagenu m=3>3</a> </p>

you appear to be missing the inverted commas at the end of those urls...

i check the paged archive addon and it seems ok. check you haven't modified anything by accident.[/url]

you use templates which are not supported by the actual version of PixelPost

as everywhere documented, the templates and the script use underscores now in the CSS-elements...

please use one of the templates which we deliver now for testing and you will see that everything works well
>> .td_calendar_navi << .td-calendar-navi

tell us about the results..
