I got an email today from someone who says that when he opens the comment form he doesn't see any input boxes. He is using Firefox 1.04 and NetBSD (an open source operating system). Does anyone have any ideas?
I was thinking:
- maybe having the comment form open at all times rather than 'on click' would solve the conflict
- or it could be a security setting either in Firefox or NetBSD
Of course, I would like for the comment form to work for all site visitors if possible. See my site link below.

firefox 1.0.4 here, checked on mac and win and its working fine, i see no reason for this not to work...i am not familiar with his os. The actually form is very very faint on my monitor, is it possible he could not "see" the form but it was actually there?

It turns out that he simply can't see the comment line. His LCD is not that good, so he literally can't see the difference in contrast between the white background and light gray comment line. I'm going to change the color of the comment form to solve this problem. I'm sure that if HE can't see the comment line, then there must be others with the same problem. I can see it easily, but I paid a lot of money for a pretty good monitor.

monitor quality/calibration is a large concern when it comes to color schemes and such...its a cripling factor that designers choose to ignore today...and i cannot blame them to a degree
usually its issues with everything being dark...haha

it's up to a user themself to sort out monitor calibration. you'd think a user would want to calibrate their monitor - for reasons like this especially! it just makes everything so much more... sexy.

He was using the computer at work, a cheap LCD. He tried to push it for all it was worth but still could barely make out the comment box. I made the change, because it frankly didn't bother me whether it was a light or dark box.
