I'm having problems regenerating my thumbnails... I'm getting this error:

Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: Operation not permitted in /usr/home/web/wno14743/includes/functions.php on line 94

I'm not getting it once, I'm getting it like fifty times or something like that...

I've never gotten this error before, I can't recall altering any code lately... I've tried to delete the entire pixelpost root and upload fresh downloaded pixelpost 1.4.1... But no result :(

I'm getting the same thing after moving Pixelpost main directory into a different directory.

I move it from /root/photos to my /root directory. When I try to re-genterate thumbnails I get the same errors.

it's saying it's having trouble with permissons (chmod) double check your permissions.

also, have you changed anything on your server recently like php version?

I know... And I've checked the permissions.. Permission is set to 777 for the folder and for the files before 1.4 is 777 and the ones after update to 1.4 is 644.. I think this is the problem, but my host won't let me change it, since group WWW is owner (and 644 only lets owner alter)...

Nope, I'm on a hosted webspace... And as far as I know, the php version is not updated...

It seems to me that a LOT of people are having this same issue.

Dare I say... it's a bug?

considering it's the first time i've seen this exact error before i don't think we can call it a bug quite yet!

*scratches head* its def an ISSUE...is it a bug? maybe for a specific type of server setting we have yet to learn about. Its a priority to figure out though...

you could always just switch hosting ;) hehe

I have this exact same problem. I noticed that all the thumbnail images in my thumbnails folder that were created pre-1.3 update all have me as an owner, and all the ones created AFTER I updated to 1.3 now have apache as the owner.

Talk with your ISP about normal rights for your account just like in many other big hosting comapnys. If they don't want give you full access for date which you store at their webhost space then you should look for other, much nicer for user, ISP.
