i'll give it a go! i should have something to show you by next monday!
it will be somethign to do at least, so i'll do my best.
i don't code using photoshop - i always code from scratch so this will be a challenge... but fun!
it's great design anyway!!

Lookinhg good, are you the owner, i could make psd's all day long, some1 will code then we will ha ve a vast section of ready made templates

no. i'm not the owner but i am part of a team of six here.
i personally concentrate a lot around the front end coding stuff but I'm useless with ideas for templates to they come out slowly from me (the coding i'm reasonably quick with when i sit down and concentrate)
if you would produce PSDs then I'd be more and happy to code for them whenever I get the time - this would be EXTREMELY valuable. :D

I a little cornfused with the comment system. Are you proposing that they open in a pop-up, but after the pop-up is closed and the page reloaded, that they appear in the right sidebar? If so, what happens when they stretch beyond the hight of the column? Just wondering, because it sound cool enough.

Well i was thinking you could just have the recent 3/4 or something like that then open the rest in a pop-up window, i been looking at the coded site and it seems there is a little problem with drop shadows, is there no way to resize them in layers..

OK, recent comments sound good too. Maybe with a title that says "most resent comments" above them.
I'm not sure where you're trying to create the drop shadow though. Not that I could help you with that one anyway. :-)

you could just have an iframe for the comments, that way people with pop-up blockers will be able to access the fullness of the site. i like some pop-ups, but now i am finding that most computers have pop-up blockers, thus those users miss out on the experience.
good luck. let me know when the site is finished, and if you have any questions, just ask away!
blessings, grace and peace.

Eww.. iframe are evil, maybe i could use a j/s scroller or something.
Maybe use a flash scroller, ill have to think about it.
i dont even want to use it i just like designing, so if anyone wants the design, ask the coder if he wants any money for it if not use it, would be nice to have a little link back but my site isnt online yet, well only denoy.com
ill design some more, it will help build my portfolio, i will code that xhtml and css but im not to sure how the theming engine works with pixelpost.
Thanks Ricky Green

hey bro, i was just trying to come up with ideas for you to keep the site contained and easily updateable for anyone... i personally like flash scrollers. i think blackpulp.com uses them in great ways (just look at the eleven2.com site), but the only problem i have is that not all computers can load flash, and it's not the easiest thing to update.

this is true, but firefox doesnt support custom scroll bars, this would ruin the look.
I wasnt being offensive and i hope you didnt see it that way.

nah, it's cool... i forgot about firefox and mac scroll bars.. in that sense, flash might just be the way to go, man. if you need help with making a dynamic flash scroller like that at blackpulp.com or whatever, just let me know... i don't know how to make it user dynamic, however (comments and such)...
if you don't go the flash way, i suppose the pop-ups arn't that bad, but i'd try to veer from that option if you're able to.
thanks for reading.
good luck
cheers.

be a hefty amount of work to make this puppy flash...
as much as i love flash, the photoblog/photography community frowns on it as a whole

As i respect what you say will i think you are wrong, i have seen a large ammount of photoblogs in pure flash so a news object wouldnt hurt.
But i think pop-ups are the best was to go in all honesty.
Also i posted a news on www.denoy.com about pixelpost a few days ago, i forgot but i thought i would tell you :D

more people have MM Flash player than can run java or adobe acrobat
i think like 91% of internet based pc's have flash 7 now, man many of the other 9% are flash 5 or higher.
