I tried the FAQ.
I did a few searches and read other similar problems..
but i'm so new at configuring all this stuff.. and I've been at this a few hours having problems deleting some other stuff from my website..

What's the problem? Is this something I have to contact my host about?
Could it have anything to do with the fact that I tried to install Birch photoblog script first.. then it wouldn't let me delete some of the files.. and now everything is all messed up??
ugh.. i'm so fed up i could

-aella,

yes, I can understand your feelings.

But I can tell you that this has nothing to do because of installing Birch before, it just shows that that program had similar or the same problems

there is a problem of configuration, rights management etc.

your script is installed in http://www.paperwin.gs
the folders /admin, /images, /thumbnails, /templates exist

the login-screen in /admin starts
but http://www.paperwin.gs/index.php does not work, there is no index.php (which belongs to PixelPost), only index.html (still from Birch?)
so maybe you deleted index.php instead of index.html?

I tried to find out about your host, to look whether they have some support-documentation but couldn't find that out

mostly, if the directory structure which PixelPost needs, is ok, but these errormessages arrive, it means that some functionality is not allowed

you should ask your host:

are there any restrictions in:

- uploading files?
- setting permissions 777 to directories?

please tell us your host, so I can have a look there at their pages as well

good luck!

Ok, I'm refreshed and ready to tackle this again!! :D
Thank you so much for your help!!!!

My host is dreamhost.
I'm going to check out the index.php and index.html right now and make sure I didn't delete the wrong one.

aha! I hadn't deleted the wrong one but I hadn't uploaded the index.php either. Anyway - that's fixed but still can't upload. As far as I know I've never had problems uploading any files or changing permissions.

What i meant about uploading the Birch files is that it DID change some of my permissions but i don't know how. just prior to uploading all those files I'd been deleting several directories and cleaning up my site. Afterwards, before I even finished trying to get birch to work, I changed my mind and decided to use pixelpost. When I tried to delete the Birch files it wouldn't allow me to, so I know it changed something. I had to change my .htaccess file because it was locking all my directories too. But I'll have to figure all that out later.

I'm just here because i want pixelpost to work! XD

Dreamhost! No chance!

They have restrictions which do not allow to upload and copy files, so PixelPost will not work

do a search for "dreamhost" here and you will find out. you are not the only one...

have a look at the forum "PixelPost Hosting" and get a real hoster
