archive - category thumbs not displayed properly?

i'm sure that i've done something to screw this up, but i can't figure it out so here goes...

my archive page does not display categories properly when selected via the dropdown using the <BROWSE_CATEGORIES_PAGED> selection. i have my page configured to display the archive the user is currently browsing by using the <CATEGORY_OR_DATE_NAME_PAGED_ARCHIVE> tag.

when i select by month, everything works fine. when i select by category the correct category url value is selected and displayed, but thumbs for every image are displayed, not just those in the selected category. additionally, the current archive value shows "all" instead of the selected archive.

i have opened my site up for you to look at, but keep in mind that i am not done with this yet so please be gentle!

how can I test this:

if you only have one image for each category?

I selected fruits and I saw one wonderful lemon
I selected stilllife and I got a coffecup

so I do not understand the problem completely :cry:

please, do not set the actual photo on top of your about-page, as the visitor gets the impression that this is the start page again ... I did not see the about-text on my screen at all

here's how i test the problem...

when i select the "fruit" category, i see both thumbnail images when i should only see one. when i select the "still life" category, i see both thumbnail images when i should only see one. when i select "all" from the category drop down, i see both images when i should see both. i would also expect that the archive value should change to reflect the actual category that i am viewing, but instead it always shows "all" as opposed to "fruit" or "still life".

using the monthly archive view works as it should, so only the category view is problematic.

i will try this again on a different machine to see if there's something local that's problematic, but i did try this on both my desktop (mac os x - safari) and my laptop (linux - firefox). i'm not sure how to explain this any differently.

as for the about page - good feedback. i had intended to rework that page anyway, but i think your comments are right on, so thank you.

make sure that you have the lateset version of the addon.

btw, the orange picture was actually quite simple to take - a macro lens, a slice of fruit in a container of sparkling soda water and a blue background of wrapping paper.
