index page different from image template.

hi. how will i be able to do this?
- I would like to have a main index page that is different from the "image_template.html" however, on this page I would like to display the thumbnails also so that when they click on the thumbs, they will be taken to the image page itself.
I've tried to edit the "image_template" itself to be my so-called 'splash page', but when I tried to load the individual image pages itself, the splash page loads.
so i wonder if there's a way to change the main index page, yet retain the old image_template look of the site for each of the image pages.

this is probably a really unelegant way to go about your problem, but since no one has replied yet...

perhaps you could set your modified image_template as your index for your domain and then point to a subdomain for your actual pp site (or even a subfolder). the thumbs would point to your subdomain/folder.

as a matter of personal taste, i generally hate splash pages though. i like to go directly to the content.
