Multiple Text Boxes

OK, I know this might be simple or impossible (nothing's impossible, right?).

I'm trying to figure out if there's an easy way to alter PixelPost so that there are two places to enter text that will show up in two different areas of the page. Basically it would be like a regular entry and an extended entry, but the extended entry is always visible.

The main reason that I'm stumped is that there are not two places to enter text in the admin panel.

The final effect would be two columns under my image. One that displays the credits for an image (model, makeup, hair, stylist, retoucher, etc.) and the second column would display the story behind the photo. Does that make sense?

This is one of the only issues keeping me from using PixelPost instead of MT for this new blog.

this would mean a lot of changes and by that it would take off PixelPost from the idea: clean easy strong ...

i suppose an addon could be made to pull this data out of the exif though...at work i add copyright, credits, image details and personal notes to all the photos exif tags...and thats how we archive stuff usually. We can pull up the date, name of the photo subject, lens used...whatever.

Hmmm... This sounds like something possible. Now, I've never used EXIF data in a blog, so tell me this. You mentioned personal notes in the EXIF data. Would there be a way to put formated text with CSS classes into the notes of an image? And if this is possible, would the EXIF tag pull this info correctly onto the page? Does it skip info that is not present? I know I'm probably stretching here, but I'm trying to think outside the box a bit.

Basically I would like to put something like this into the EXIF data:

I shoot an equal amount of film and digital. The exif info is great for my digital pics, but I want to be able to enter shooting info for film and I want it separated from my text entry.

If you are putting images from film onto your website then you must have scanned them. So you must have a digital file. So you can add EXIF information to the digital file if you want, and display that.

there are tools who can write EXIF information into a file

have a look for instance at http://www.tucows.com and search for "edit exif"
you will find a lot of those tools and most of them are free or shareware ...

Brokencity, I don't know whether you are managing your scanned images with any image cataloguing software, but most of those are capable of writing information, not just EXIF but also IPTC metadata, back to the file. Or, as Connie says, there are standalone tools that will do this. Some of the tools, however, are VERY BAD at working with embedded metadata.

How do you manage your images? Maybe someone here will have experience of the same program and can help.
