Has anyone else run into the 'light' version of the new simple template not displaying in IE? The 'dark' version displays correctly.

I had started playing around with the new template, then booted up IE to make sure it worked for people with that broswer, to discover it didn't load (as if its not seeing the css). I wiped my changes clear, and uploaded the original template, with no avail. Still doesn't seem to load.(IE version 6.0.2800)

If you cleared your modification then referesh the page with CTRL+F5 it will do it. the template is ok with IE and FF.

you have so many errors in your page that this time the good old tolerant IE may not load the complete template

I am starting to teach again and I do not like it, but you make so many mistakes here: validate your page and you will see:

1)
it starts in the header:"Working it out | Photos-PhotoBlog: standing in the night, "Standing in the night,
only the complete content, all keywords must be enclosed in ", not every keyword..

this stupid "meta" produced 29 errors!!!!

2) you forgot to close the link after the image and open a new div there...
3) <input ... > is not closed correctly, <input ... />

isn't it funny that you call this "working it out"? I will not work out all your errors

load your page in firefox
use webdeveloper extension
validate
correct
validate

and then come back if IE still is not working correctly!

The thing is I haven't made any changes to the page. The page that loads is the default simple template that came with 1.4.2. No modifications.

This is why i couldn't understand why validation discovered so many errors (as I also noticed those when i validated).

I will re-download 1.4.2, and try another clean install of the template.

Currently I'm getting sql errors, as my server seems to be down (probably switching to eleven2 once I decide on a domain name, as free servers tend to be what you pay for).

Did you open this template in Frontpage-editor????

I did not open this template in frontpage. I haven't edited the template at all, just uploaded it to the server.

What I have done is removed what writen in the 'text/description' box in the edit images tab on the pixelpost admin page. I did this because when I (and you) tried to validate the page all the errors were from text that appeared in that section. By making the text/description blank the page now validates for me, and the page loads correctly.

What I notice. If I use " " marks in the text/description box the page no longer validates. (edit: I imagine this is because that text box uses markdown/html to format, so its reading the " " as though it was part of html).

Oh, I know. I use firefox, I just have some friends that don't want to switch. Trying to be accomodating to everyone.

haha...I know I know, I wish I could wipe IE off the face of the planet! but sadly people like my parents wont listen to me and make that simple switch. I even installed it and skinned it to look just like IE and they dont use it. *sigh*

That skin was pretty well tested though, any additional issues with it will have to be looked into further.

Same problem here. Uploaded the simple template, made no changes, and it doesn't work in IE. :-(

Looks great in FF, but half my viewers use IE.

The problem for me stemmed from using quotation marks " " in text boxes for the images (description of image and/or image name). By using the single one ' ' or using html code (then never going back to edit the text, as they turn into " " when you go back to edit) ends the probem I was experiencing.

(edit. hmm...looks like I already posted this exact same thought previously. Sorry folks).

I will keep an eye on the input in the image title and image description to get clean formats there... will be in the next version
