Hi
Got my site up and running at last and gone to test the comment facility. Problem is that the pop-up doesn't open for most images. At first it was just the most recently uploaded image but I've tried it again and it doesn't open but does for one of the others.
I'm using Firefox 1.0.6 and have enabled pop-ups for my site so it's not that. Also had a look in the admin control but can't see anywhere that controls the comment pop-ups. Anyone ideas?
Thanks, Mark.
The site is at http://ccgi.mpower.plus.com/photoblog by the way, if anyone would kindly test it. Cheers

In fact, never mind. I think I know what it is. Just noticed that it doesn't work on the 2 images with no EXIF data. These were both converted from RAW format which wouldn't get rid of the data I know but I think the way I saved them out as JPEGs might.
Will resave them and reupload...see what that does.

well, Mark,
popup is only controlled by the tag <COMMENT_POPUP>, not in the admin area
if it opens one time, it should open the next time as well
it needs Javascript activated and the setting to accept popup-windows in the browser
if it does not popup, look if the popup-window is already open, in the background, or clean the browser-cache, might help as well
would be interesting to know if your image-format would cause the trouble

hi Connie
Thanks for the reply. Checked to see if the pop-up was open in the background but wasn't. Javascript is enabled and pop-ups allowed on that site. Will try the cache first and then the file format. It's still a JPEG but for some reason I saved 2 of the images using 'save for web' (a throwback to my webdesign days I guess) which must be why the EXIF data gets dumped.
I'll let you know how I get on :)

hmm.....even stranger.
Just cleared the cache and double checked settings for Javascript and pop-ups. Now the comment pop-ups appear for the 2 images with no EXIF data but not for the 2 that have it...opposite to how it behaved before so I guess that blows my theory of the format data out of the window

but the popup has nothing to do with the images, that is what I do not understand :(

I know..I've not bothered trying the file format thing as it seems to happen randomly. One thing that does seem to happen is that if I close the site and then go back the pop-up works but then close the pop-up and try to reopen it again and it doesn't.
Tried using IE to see if it was a Firefox quirk but the same thing happened.
