Id say this will have to be done with paypal system, maybe someone can look into creating something, but I keep my distance from commerce stuff...haha..the biggest headache ever

Well I do like to have the option for it, I have no idea how it can work with paypal, if someone can drop a line, I will apreciate it.
Thanks.
yeah this would be a cool option. I saw some other photoblog with some custom code to offer 3 sizes of each image and purchase through paypal. I'll try and find the link tonight

hi friends,
just my 5 cents and you may think that I am stubborn, but as I spend a lot of my freetime with PixelPost, debugging, developing, supporting and as I miss a lot of my free time which I originally wanted to waste with photography projects or, even more important, wanted to spend with my beloved husband,
I am sure that I will continue to develop or to brainstorm new functionality, but nothing commercial at all ...
this does not mean that I will hinder somebody to write the topmost superkewl AddOn for that, but for sure I will keep my hand off ;=)
http://shahin.ca/foto/ has a great setup for paypal
If I could I would create that addon.
Id say that here is much better example (better photos and all other stuff):
- photo
http://greyexpectations.com/?e=538
- paypal buy option:
http://noahgrey.com/printorder.php?p=538&s=2
As part of dev team I also wont develop such addon/hack.

it's just not on the priority list really, and thats a looooong list, pixelpost is solid, but its not perfect...yet
As long as commercial futures wont be so useful as other they will be with the lowest priority.

There is not need to intergrate PayPal or any other commerce system into PP.
Once you have something for sale on PayPal they will give you small piece of code that you can insert into image description and the button will show up there.
One thing - you only have to know which photo user wants :)

you want to pay for pixelpost? that's a first...be nice for us to work here though, buy an office with a photography studio, maybe a cool vw bug with a pixelpost logo/design wrapped on it...really tacky and all..
ah, that would be cool....

Actually, (after looking around) adding a way for users to buy a print from your site can be fairly easy. Just go to the paypal site and go through their form to create a button. Copy the button and add it to your image_template file.
To answer GeoS question on knowing which image they want just turn to pixelpost for the answers. When you are creating a button on paypal the first thing they ask for is the item name/service. In this field just put <IMAGE_TITLE>. Since this code is within your pixelpost files it will grab the image name you give it and put that in the "Item" section of the shopping cart. If you wfind it easier to work off the actual file name then use <IMAGE_NAME>.
If you want to offer different sizes just use the extra options within the paypal system to give your users a drop down box. In the drop down box the user can choose the size and then hit the buy button.
The onyl other thing left to worry about is whether you want your users to see the typical paypal shopping cart or to customize your own. But hopefully what I listed above will at least answer a question or two on adding the purchase option on your page while knowing which image users are interested in. Yes it is a simple solution without thumbnails and such, but that is the extra step in customization your cart that I haven't looked into yet ;)
I will be playing around with it a little today and if I can figure out the customized shopping cart I will post about it...if anyone is interested.
Oh and blinking8s, sure I am willing to cough up a few bucks to pixelpost if that is what it takes. You guys have a great system here and I can't wait to see what is around the corner.
