View Full Version : multiple admins and passwords
Hello,
I am trying to add a section where "multiple users" can post. I have set up the new admin and password within the database. So when I go to login to the admin page it still will only read the first admin and password (with-in the database ID 1). Is there an add on for this type of functionality. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ron

pixelpost is a single user based application, to date there is no such hack for the application...but I am sure its only a matter of time before someone does create something. As far as the Pixelpost Dev team...we' stay busy enough as it is and this hasnt even made it to our checklist on user requests and development features

How much complicate(complexity) it is to do this kind of feature(addon)?

I am not sure if I understand the purpose behind this.
If you talk about a handful of persons you trust who may upload photos to your blog, why not give them the Admin login data and use the Custom Fields Addon for showing the photographers name?
If you want to create a real multi-user interface, where everybody can register and upload his photos to his own let's say category, it is getting very complex.
You need a complete subscribe process with user data stored including password encryption, lost password function and activation by Admin
Assign categories for each user (for showing all photos of a specific user)
Changing the user interface for upload and managing only his own photos
and so on.
Not so easy! (And this is the reason why nobody did it so far I guess)
I might have a temporary solution for this, because I use this kind of thing. The web page I have is in fact a team's page (we are 2 persons behind) and since PP doesn't have multi-user capability I did this:
- we share the same admin username and password;
- I've installed the custom fields addon and configure it to have one field;
- for example if I upload an image, then in the custom field i put my nickname. (if it's a photo taken by my friend, he writes his own nickname in that field).
- in the template I have added a <CUSTOM_FIELD_VALUE_ID=1> as the author, so people know who took the shot.
