This is my first post so please so please excuse my igonorance. I looked thru the read me files for help as well as through the forum and did not find anything that helps. I'm trying to install version 1.4.2 on my webhost www.eleven2.com but keep getting error messages. I've called my host company several times but they can't help me with installation. Here is some background information:

1) php version 4.3.11 & MySql 4.1.13-standard are running
2) I've created a mysql server database and named it (binded it)
3) I've unzipped the program file and uploaded everything
4) the "/include/index.php" has been edited with specific parameter
5) I've created an "images" and "thumbnails" folder and set file permissions, 777
6) Everytime I try to run "/admin/install.php" I receive the following message:
Warning: main(../includes/pixelpost.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/sally/public_html/pp/admin/install.php on line 37

Warning: main(../includes/pixelpost.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/sally/public_html/pp/admin/install.php on line 37

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '../includes/pixelpost.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/sally/public_html/pp/admin/install.php on line 37

PLEASE POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. Much thanks, Sally (aka Suspira)

I am quite sure that you did not edit "includes/pixelpost.php"

this file must have the database information and it must be uploaded to the includes-folder

so please check which file you edited and which file is not present

I always understood that eleven2.com helps you and sets up PixelPost for you
so you should not do that yourself

please ask them to help, or have a look here in our Forum:

http://forum.pixelpost.org/forumdisplay.php?f=29

you see they are experts with PP!

good luck!

I GOT IT WORKING! Thank you all for your replies! For some reason the /includes/pixelpost.php appeared as /includes/pixelpost.php.txt. Maybe because I moved it after uploading it, I'm still not sure. But at least everything is finally working now.

However, there are a few things I'd like to share. First, the last time I talked to the technical department they made it very clear to that they do not help install {open source} programs. Secondly, before I signed up with them for web hosting, I explicity said I was going to use the site to run PixelPost. After the first week or so, I was thinking about changing hosts. My frustration was also due to DSL problems and being new to Linix.

I will contact the sales department and see if they will let me have the pixelpost discount. And if I need to the contact the technical department, I will mention Rodney's posting about pixelpost help.

THANKS!
