you're database deatails in pixelpost.php are incorrect. check that password, username and database name are all correct - if you cannot spot the problem then get in touch with your host and ask them if they can help.

have you created a mySQL database using your website control panel? ask if you are unsure of what i mean - people aren't born with this knowledge - but it's very simple once you're told.

don't be sorry. i guess most users who own their own space understand about databases but if we at pixelpost say you need one we should also provide info for how to use it.
once in c-panel it's fairly self-explanatory. go to the page called 'mysql databases' and once there you should be able to create a database (all you need to do is give it a name) and then create a user (with a password). Once you have a database and a user you need to grant all permissions for the database you created to the user. Make sure you keep note of the database name, the username and the password - these are what you need for pixelpost.php.
If you sitll have trouble, just ask.

ok, i entered the database name, pw and un into pixelpost.php but it still gives the same error message:
Error: Access denied for user: 'saxumco_marc@localhost' to database 'pixelpost'
(i made the user: marc)
but it came up as: saxumco_marc
ive tried marc and saxumco_marc for username
You must put there data from Cpanel (this what is wrote there). So:
saxumco_marc as username
... as database
... as password
localhost as host
With such configuration it should work!
PS By default Cpanel adds to DB & user name prefix which is equel to schema like this accountname_.

saxumco_marc should be correct.
try
saxumco_pixelpost for your database name. (assuming you attempted to name the database pixelpost) make sure your password is correct.

just last thing, is there any way to embed the gallery into a gallery page on my site?
in that, on the web page, it only has the thumbnails ( like http://www.saxum1.co.uk/pixelpost/index.php?x=browse ) and if you click on one, it opens to full size in a new window?
p.s. like this: http://www.suriko.net/view/?x=browse&category=1&pagenum=1

i mean, on the website page www.saxum1.co.uk/gallery.php how do you get it so it has the list of thumbnails, etc. embeded in the page (not opening a new page of www.saxum1.co.uk/pixelpost/index.php
To get it you should embed some gallery application with your site or some part of code from PP.
