Hello everybody,

I've just installed pixelpost and the first problem with the Login I've already solved with the help oft this thread (http://forum.pixelpost.org/showthread.php?t=1327). Thanks to Systematica.

But now it seems to be, that I have another Problem. I can't upload Photos. I've created the folders for the images and thumbnails like it was described in the read_me.txt.
When the system runs for install, it checked all and told me that all will be fine.

But now, when I click on "general Info" the following message appears :

Configured Imagepath ../fotolog/images/

Image Directory: Does Not Exist (should be ../fotolog/images) - Thumbnails folder not writable!
You must set correct permissions on this folder or you will not be able to create any thumbnails.
Set the folder to chmod 777 (read, write and execute permissions for owner, group and world).
Thumbnails Directory: Does Not Exist (should be ../fotolog/thumbnails) -
Language Directory: Does Not Exist (should be ../fotolog/language)
Addons Directory: Does Not Exist (should be ../fotolog/addons)
Includes Directory: Does Not Exist (should be ../fotolog/includes)
Templates Directory: Does Not Exist (should be ../fotolog/templates)

I can't change CHMOD - It's Windows IIS !!

EDIT : When I try to upload an image the system works and works ... and than a message in a red box appears :

ERROR
UPLOAD WENT WITHOUT ERROR

(hehe : without Error ?? Can't understand that ... )

Can anybody tell me what I should do ?

(I hope I could describe my problem with the right words. Please pardon me, if I make grammatical mistakes. I'm german and I've learned English only at school ... *ähm* ... a long, long time ago :) )

try changing your configured imagepath to ../images/

Hello Joey !

I've changed the image path now, but the result is still the same.

ok.. somebody else found that .../images/ worked for them. so try that instead... basically i'm sure that there is a problem with paths more than anything.

Ok - now I'm one step forward. The messages under "general Info" are o.K. now. :-)

But still no image on screen ... an I wonder why not ?

what does it say about your permissions now? it may now be a permissions problem? can you see the images in your images folder?

and have you tried posting a new photo since the problem?

Here is the general-info text :

Guessed imagepath: /fotolog/images/
Configured Imagepath .../images/
Image Directory: OK - Can we write to the directory? YES.
Thumbnails Directory: OK - Can we write to the directory? YES.
Language Directory: OK
Addons Directory: OK
Includes Directory: OK
Templates Directory: OK

I think the permissions are all ok. The system can write images into the folders, but it doesn't do this. The folders on the server (after uploading) are empty.

Could it be helpfull, if I delete the whole software on the server an upload it again ?

At first I was unable to login and because of that I've made the changes with the session-cookie, like Systematica told in the other thread. But I only swap the admin/index.php folder, not the whole software.

if it is IIS ask your host admin to set permission for you. 777

777 for the folders "images" and "thumbnails" ... ??
Or for all folders ? Or which one ?

*yeah* ... The problem is solved and I thank you all for your help.

It was a problem with the permissons. A long, long, long time ago, in my first times with making Websites, I began with Frontpage. You know : Frontpage needs an Windows-Webserver with the FP Server-extensions. And these server-extensions cancled the permissions for users.

My host-admin has now deleted the extensions (I don't need them anymore because of working with PHP and CSS-Stylesheets), set the permissions right and now I can upload photos.

Thank you all !!

I'm glad it worked.
