A nice shot with good color and detail.. but if you want the DOF as narrow as you have it, I think it would look a bit better with the focus on the spider's eyes/head rather than its arms. The other option would be to close the aperture a bit more to include more of the spider.

My wife and I came home tonight and it was dark outside. I saw this spider moving along its webline above the hood of my car via the light of my headlights. It was the biggest spider I've ever seen in Illinois! It's body was the size of my whole thumb!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!!.... freaked me out... we couldn't see the web... so we sort of crouched all the way to the door... we DID NOT want to meet up with the spider. yech.

Oh... and great spider pic!! Love the colors. I like the legs being in detail and the spider a little out of focus. Makes it more creepy, to me. But I'd like to see it also with the eyes/head in focus as well. Nice work!

hmm.. detail is great, but focused on the wrong area. i dig the placing of the photo, man.. down a spiderweb? what?! that's awesome!
