hey, thanks for the props raminia...
and ya know... I'd be happy to offer something similar for download, but it may take a few weeks before I can fix all the stuff I tweaked to make this work.
Once I finish moving house I'll dig into this a bit and kick back my work to the pixelpost community.
Wow...great work, Pixelgrain.

I like the way it deals with vertical images. Was that relatively simple to do?
Would love to get a look at this in template form to fool around with.

rockyrapier....
the vertical/horizontal thing was relatively easy, just a few CSS changes based on the width/height of the image. Basically there's a div that will float to the right if there's room, and not if there isn't. I had to tweak out the pixelpost.php file a bit to get it to work though, so I want to pull out all of my changes to the base PP code and make a separate functions file for the template if i can.
I figure I can get around to this in the next couple of weeks, but I'm in the middle of a trans-contintental move at the moment that's taking up ALL of my time and energy.

Yes, I'll make a downloadable theme that's based on my site, next week hopefully. It won't be identical, but the vertical / horizontal thing and my comments style will be there for sure... look for it, and pester me if I take too damn long to do it.

awesome pixelgrain. I can hardly wait.
I love the vertical function, becuase you can see the image AND read the description without scrolling.

Glad to read on your photo site that your trip back to North America went well. I'm sure the pixelpost users out there would greatly appreciate your efforts in providing a basic template of your site when you find the time after your move.
Cheers.

Hey all, I've finally gotten around to making a public template based on my site, but I need some peeps to try it out for me so I don't release a buggy mess on the world and have to answer all the questions involved.
If you're a brave soul willing to test out this template and it's accompanying addon, please send me a private message and we'll talk.
Thanks all...

Alright All, I'm gonna brave a public release....
Please send me feeback and bugs. Be sure to read the readme, there are some quirky requirements...
Thanks!

I validated your template and found an error:
if you do not activate the calendar in admin/options, you should not enter Calendar-tags! This brings an error
the last closing </div> is wrong, it's not open (line 144)
CSS-validating is not possible because of the calendar-error in HTML
I don't understand the meaning of that grey corner at the top left of the light frame, what metapher? what symbol?

i think the grey corner is just an artistic part of the background. very very nice template john! i love it. :]

Thanks for checking Connie, I'm going to remove the calendar tags altogether on my page.
FYI, the downloadable template validates just fine, the error is only with my page, which is slightly less advanced at the moment...

In the pixelgrain page, I saw that the date display is in alphabet instead of numeric, can I know how to do that? Thansk.

I change the format m to M or F, I can see the date for the comments are updated to alpabets, but not the date I put for my image notes, I use <IMAGE_DATE>. Am I missing something?

Hey, good thought... I have a major upgrade planned for the template, but it's going to have to wait a few weeks until i complete a move to the west coast. If someone else wanted to help out it would be great, but otherwise i'll make it work eventually...

I just upgraded my pixelpost and the pixelgrain theme looks really messed up. Is there any update version or any idea what I did wrong?

I don't know exactly what's happening here, as I haven't tested the template with recent versions of Pixelpost. But... My first guess is that you lost the addon during the upgrade.
Did you keep the pixelgrain_addon.php file in the addons folder?
