Password Isssue

This is one I have not seen yet. Basic problem is that I cannot log in to my admin panel. I am running ver. 1.4.1

The problem started when I added a new image and the add consistantly crashed Opera. So I went over to Firefox and of course could not remember the correct password.

I have reviewed the previous form posts and tried a few things, but none seems to work. So here is the details.

I can get into the database with phpMyAdmin and view and change the password. Reguardless of what I set it to the admin panel will not accept the new password when I try to log in.

I have tried the email route for generating a new password. That gets me back a message that the database update failed and I do not get an email with a new password. However when I look at the database the password has been changed. Using the new password to look in however does not work.

Any ideas?

Thanks raminia, but no solution yet.

There have been no changes to the cookie setup and I checked and it is set to accept them.

Like I said I can get into the phpmyadmin to verify the password and username. I can change them as well. But nothing I do there get the admin panel to let me in.

I am wondering if it is a hosting issue as it started when I tried Firefox and couldn't remember the password and had it try the email change change of password after Opera starting crashing everytime I tried to upload an image.

I am looking for ideas - I still cannot get in. I have tried changing the password and the admin name in the database and still get the message that one of them is incorrect when I try to log in.

Other than that the system seems to be working just fine. I can get in, navigate and add comments. I just cannot log in to the system.

I have verified that the cookies are working. I can kill them and have them show up from the basic photoblog without any problem.

check the casing of the letters.

i believe username at least is case-sensitive.

I have kept everything in lower case to avoid that problem. So that is not the issue.

I still don't know the source of the problem but I managed to solve it with a bit of programing to do an end run around the system.

Now all is working.
