Post url's to your site with pixelpost installed!
With closing up on 200 downloads, somebody ought to have given it a try and decided to go with it!
Post your webby url folks!
(I will myself move my own blog, www.pixelpunk.se , to a pixelpost install as soon things are chillin' and I get the time. This script provides far more stuff than the original does! The original being pixelpunk.se, which I decided to wrap up and give away as pixelpost)

I thought I was going to have to learn Moveable Type before discovering Pixelpost...what a dodge that was! :D
Here's my site: http://www.greentraveler.com/photoblog/index.php
I'm using a modified black template after trying every combination I could imagine....I find one large photo on a black background and square thumbnails make the most pleasing presentation for me!
Thanks Pixelpunk!

Looks good Kenneth, nice customization of the default template, which probably is not the best for different sized images and stuff :)

ps. add your sites to the pixelpost frontpage as well, down in the right menu you can add them.

templates are based on pixelpost-light, i also modified index.php a bit.
and that's the great thing: pixelpost is powerful, but at the same time it's small enough, so that someone like me, with limited experience in php-coding, is able to customize the script.
thx pixelpunk, great work!

blinking8s: good stuff - you're on my 'favorites' now over at photoblogs.
i posted myself a bit early over there myself, withonly 6 entries or so. but, here's what i have so far:
http://www.hadmatter.org
i was going to do a movabletype setup, since i use that for my text blog. i'm quite glad that i stumbled across pixelpost, otherwise i'd still be dorking around with templates.
i used one of the included templates as a starting point, and am now left with something that is original. i haven't moved the css out of the html files yet though. i left the comments template alone for now, but will tweak that up eventually as well.
if anyone wants a copy of my template, let me know. it's pretty basic but i like it.

I've had pixelpost for awhile now - but had to leave my site at a stands still for out side reasons.
anyways I'm back and working with a new toy camera.
anyways the 3 pictures are just really place holders for the modding of my pixelpost site. currently the only thing i've done so far is the main image index view mod.
I wanted something simple and easy to use for my friends who arent well internet aware yet.

But anyway I finished most of it up, there is still some work to be done but I am happy with where it's at right now. I need to get my links page up and get picky with layout stuff or something. idk.

OK, prompted by Connie, and after a little more work, I am ready to expose my site. It is here (http://photos.jeremycherfas.net).
I should explain two things. First of all, the photoblog is designed to integrate with my ordinary blog (http://wp.jeremycherfas.net), which is powered by WordPress. So it may not be great for viewing images, but at least it looks like part of the same site. Secondly, when I started playing with PixelPost I uploaded some pictures as quite large images. Those do not work so well within my layout. I have now set myself a fixed width for the photos I will upload in future.
A problem remaining is that the Browse Archive page does not validate for either XHTML or CSS but I'll maybe remember to come back and fix that later.
And finally, I'd like to just pay tribute to PixelPost and all the fine people in here. It is a great application, works out of the box but is also eminently tweakable. I really like it. Thanks.

you can tone the file sizes down a lot, some of your photos are .5MB!!! thats very large for web use

I think Photoshop puts a lot of unwanted info in the files or something after I resize them from the originals. If I open the pics in mspaint and save them afterward it cuts like 80% off the file size. Why would you say that is. Am I losing EXIF data or quality or something?
BTW, are the pics decent for a newbie photographer? I want to start getting actual people in shots like downtown candid stuff, but haven't really figured out how or worked up the courage to ask strangers if I can take their pics.

photoshop is not cramming extra info into your files...
the best way to save for photoblog display, choose a size, safe the design and other users resultion, i keep it simple and post at 600x400 for instance...
file --> save as ---> jpeg ---> quality 9
keeping your images at fill quality will offer no advantage for web display, just keep the quality high enough to maintain the images integrety...
for critque on photos, either users will comment on them in your blog from the link here, or you can select a specific photo you would like advice on and post it here:
http://www.pixelpost.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=24
"save for web" quality "65" for me.

"save for web" quality "65" for me.

this (save for web) strips the file of exif data, something that many users wish to display in their photoblog...
this is why we always mention to use "save as" just to preserve the images original underlying data

What I like about PixelPost is its simplicity and photo-oriented structure. Hope to see some more features to come in next versions PixelPost ... for example, a more user-friendly permalinks, support tagging (like in Flickr, del.icio.us) and a "search" button.

Hello Hans,
your cat is a real star!
Welcome at PixelPost, (and I have only one slight critique: the contrast between background and letters is too light when viewing at Windows, are you a Mac-User?)
greetings, Connie

Hans,
I understood that you wanted to focus on the photo and not on the text, but if a text is not readable or badly readable, the more the user will try to decipher it :o

Hi!
I went over from Wordpress to Pixelpost in version 1.4.1 due to the fact
I found Wordpress not beeing the best solution when it comes to picture
posting.
I am not photographer at all, I do illustrations, but I found Pixelpost
to be the best choice available even when EXIF ist not needed.
come on by and visit me: http://www.caught-dead.de
I just updated to 1.4.2 yesterday

hey,
i like your photography and your site design, too. however, i have two suggestions. one is that in the archive page you have to move the cursor over a thumbnail to see it without the halo. i don't think that's a good thing. the other is that you should post a little larger images. your images require to be displayed in large.

Hi Peppy,
I tried to identify the font in your template CSS for that nice oldfashioned headings and the validator gave some error-messages
just for your information: http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?profile=css2&warning=2&uri=http://www.walsumer.de/
but please tell us how you defined the font for <H1>, I am wondering ;=)

Looks to me like it's sIFR 2 (http://www.mikeindustries.com/sifr/) or something Connie.

That´s right. I used sIFR for headlines.

Mine is here : www.hendralauw.com
Was just up during Christmas day. Used the Simple template as a base with minor changes.
Thanks for creating the pixelpost software. Great stuff.

My englsih is not good enough to explain it to you. Download the files an read the manual. I think you´ll find help in the manual or on the sIFR homepage.

the advantage of sIFR is how it's comepletely web semantic.

sure - but the flash can be highlighted, coppied pasted etc like real text - because it is essentially proper text.

You got a point there, I had seen text from Image Replacement being accessible but can't recall the URL, OTOH there are a significant percentage of browsers which do not have flash installed (mine does not ; ) )
Guess this thread should be split now... it is seriously off topic from the main one

Perhaps not the neatest template and text is all in Finnish, but being familiar with Pixelpost you should know your way around. ;)
Btw, "luonnoskirja" = "sketchbook".
