Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes:

My site received over a thousand hits yesterday according to the pixelpost counter but when I checked my hosts statistics they say I only received 246 unique visitors with one thousand two hundred and something page impressions. Does the counter count visitors or pages visited?

If it's visitors what's causing the discrepancy between the site counter and my host? Most of the recent visitors are not showing up as referalls and I suppose a *lot* of people could have bookmarked the site, but they'd still get counted under both systems wouldn't they?

Any ideas would be welcome...

Oh, and the site is here, if you need to look at it:

Thanks,
Simon

dont we have a unique hit counter addon? is that what you are using or just the regular hit counter?

regular hit counter is an ego booster, it records each hit, including you, all the spiders, multiple times per day.

for the most part, your stats are more accurate

Hey,

Thanks for the response. I will implement the unique hit counter as soon as possible. At the moment I'm getting a "hit" every two minutes and it looks a bit dodgy.

Cheers,
Simon

which version of pp do you use? 1.4.1? or 1.4.2 (strongly recommended)

Hi,

I'm using version 1.4, I've downloaded the update but what are the benefits of upgrading?

Cheers,
Simon

security is the main thing.

there is a changlog with the downloads in the /docs file, it tells you everything that was updated in each version
