Hi, I'm new to pixelpost and photoblogging. Just figured out how to work the templates, etc. Please check out my photoblog and comment and critique the photos. All comments welcome, good or bad. I feel that there is almost always room for improvement.

yeah, this area is more for specific photos you want crit on, to help you become a better photographer
its hard to just plow through a stack of images, and rather than comments on the blog we want the feedback to be here in to forum to learn from others mistakes and good things too

This happens weekly, and it's not anyones fault because people are new to the forum, can someone not sticky a thread with the topic letting people know to only post a couple of images?

I Totally love that first one.

The dramatic lighting in the first two is good - particularly the second. It looks almost sinister.
The third picture isn't so great - suffering from camera shake. If you took it while out boating, there's little you can do about this as a tripod won't help.

First photo works well, the second one is great too except the yellow part of the sky seems a bit over cooked. The third, doesn't look like its taken by the same photographer :) it just seems a bit messy.
The first two are great though.

The first one lacks any sort of focal point for me. Technically it is fine - good lighting and focus, but it doesn't leave much of an impression otherwise.
I like the lighting of the 2nd one, though it seems like it is tilted slightly (minor quibble). Overall, I think #2 is the best.
#3 doesn't work for me - too much shake and not that interesting of a subject in the first place.

1st image - I'd twist the image a few degrees counterclockwise so that the vertical lines in the tall buildings become vertical. I'd also show a little more of the sky and less of the foreground,as it is. The sky seems to be very dramatic and you could have take profit of the weather here. The foreground buildings are a bit distracting;
2nd image - I absolutely love the atmosphere of this one. Incredibly dramatic. But I can also see a problem with 'lines' here. That black building in the foreground that you can only see the top of it should have it's horizontal lines paralell to the frame. I like straight pictures as much as I like straight frames on a wall.
3rd image - I think you have better images on your gallery ;)
As an overall artist I think you should work your cityscape technique. Especially modern cityscape. In modern cities the common theme is straight lines, paralell lines and square angles. So your photography should work with these themes. This requires that you be more carefull while taking the photo. Besides that you have great photos in your gallery... keep the good work.
Hope I've been helpfull and not too harsh :D only trying to help here...

Thanks everyone for your critiques. Please feel free to be as harsh as you want. I don't take it personally. If it's valid, I think it's great. Also I think I have some distortion in my lens because when i was rotating the photo, it didn't seem like the lines of the building line up. I will have to try some tests and see if I do have the camera parallel and lined up correctly.
Thanks again!
