Google Analytics tells you everything you want to know about how your visitors found you and how they interact with your site. You'll be able to focus your marketing resources on campaigns and initiatives that deliver ROI, and improve your site to convert more visitors.

I've added the code to my photoblog on subdomain and no success
The Google Analytics tracking code has not been detected on your website's home page. For Analytics to function, you or your web administrator must add the code to each page of your website.

We just put it on our new site which as just one page (page.php?...), but so far, we don't have specific info on what pages are being loaded... it just shows a few thousand people on "page.php" without seperating out pageID's, yet.

i try it and it works!. the problem is that the data is no real-time. I try it for a while and then i decide to continue or erase it

no statistics package is actually real time, on personal hosting you might have the option on systems such as AWstats to "update now" which can put strain on your serverload if it is a large traffic website and is not actualy advised. Being a long term statistical analysis system, its not intended to be "real time" but is for you to monitor your stats over a series of time, to find flaws in SEO an site structure/design
mint is different, and by no means is it a full stats package so its not to be compared
for subdomains:

I havent tried it with a pixelpost photoblog, but I would assume the code would lie in your template pages, and track each page ID just fine
*edit*
apperently there is a special filter to recognize the string after ? but I am waiting to hear results back over the next 48 hours

I've just waited and it seems it added successfully now. waiting for another 12 hours for stat results.

it MIGHT take longer than 12 hours, took me 72 but they were uber slammed with traffic upon opening

index.php is getting all the hits... (I also added my ggl analytics tag in header.html). Has anyone figured out how to have each dynamic generated page get the count?

i'm really loving it - it tracks each of my pages individually actually and follows the htaccess redirects i created for my pblog. just wish it had more info on visitors.

Definately going to keep my eye on this thread, for the information about pixelpost.
I tried adding it to my image_template.html but of course that didn't work, so will be patient and see what you champs come up with :)

Did you guys add the code underneath the <meta> tags within your image_template.html file?
Also, did you ever have problems with google saying: " Tracking Unknown
The Google Analytics tracking code has not been detected on your website's home page. For Analytics to function, you or your web administrator must add the code to each page of your website." ?

I place it directly over the </head> of my documents...yes in your template.html files
After going back into analytics to check if it was validated or not, i had to click something and it checked, then said to come back in about 12 hours
a lot of users are having issues with it saying tracking unknown, but after about 72 hours more of those people start getting their results...

was just wondering if anybody knew what a bounce rate was... apparently my photoblogs front page has a 50.69% bounce rate? is that bad?
blinking8s
11-21-2005, 10:35 AM
the bounce rate is how many people leave your site after viewing one page...
my question to google, since its reading index.php?showimage=ID is if its actually reading them as different pages...if its going off the title, actual image id or what?
Joe[y]

well if it helps mine says that
'/photo/35' has had 46 pageviews. so it ranks mine separetly but i dunno if that's to do with my seemingly non-dynamic pages.

not working now... strange....
raminia
11-21-2005, 10:27 PM
ok it's working again. maybe I missed to attention something ...
btw, there is something that i don't underestand completely. about 90% of my visitors of new visitors but the most part of my visits (around 40% of all) came to my photoblog through direct link....
If they are new visitors why they should have my photoblog address?
p.s: the second most visits come from forum.pixelpost.org :P

I decided to add the mod_rewrite hack and I am starting to see hits for individual pages (photos: i.e. /photos/107 instead of ?showimage=107)

I seem to be missing the 'Add Website Profile' link, anyone else has the same problem?
tried it on both opera and ie and the button seems to enjoy hiding from me

Seems to be the same for myself. I guess with all the demand, it was simply giving a tracking unknown error rather than something like: "Tracking verified, you're results will start in approximately 72 hours" ;)
a lot of users are having issues with it saying tracking unknown, but after about 72 hours more of those people start getting their results...

yea reading the help really helps..
new account users have to sign up for the mailing list whereas current users have their add website profile suspended.
