I always hoped for the templates and design forums to be a little more active...this is the FUN stuff outside the whole photography part!

but with more and more users posting in here the last few weeks, i decided to step up and knock out some templates...so the first of many to come (and still under constuction itself)

Laconic v0.1

now one thing i am torn on, do i even use this many words? or should i make red little pixel icons for the info, comments, home, browse and about sections? and truly make it more concise?

does the rss + atom stand out too much breaking the miniml look? or does it stand out and make you see it in a good way?

and up...lets see, i think thats it...im off to recode the popup comments look now...peace

Will,

I would place RSS / Atom in the same line as the other links, so you have a small line of text on top and one under the image

I find "RSS + Atom" misleading, because people could think that this is a unity, but it is not... maybe just "RSS" "ATOM" links?

i use atom for my blog on blogger.com - it's quite good but rss is all that's really needed to be honest.

I don't disagree with Connie about a single line, although I would try it and see. It might be unbalanced. But my suggestion is to move the text away from the images. They are too close to the edges, for me, and that is what makes them distracting. Give the image more air, say 25 or 30 pixels padding all round.
