DOF, colors, and composition are all bang on, nicely done.

Thank you nephoto. I should thank Photoshop CS2 at it is a great tool for retouching. without it the shot was dull but I enhanced the color saturation, noise reduction and clarity with it. I also used noiseware for noise reductions of ISO 400.

even the background was retouched but I think it does not sounds un-natural at all.

Very good, and if I have one comment it is the alignment of the background. For me, the shot would be perfect if the black on the right extended all the way to the tip of the top petal. But that is being hyper-critical!
