ok, so lets have a little fun shall we?
with pixelpost 1.5 on the brink, we're going to need images for the demo running on pixelpost.org. So here is the deal...
We want images of what IS Pixelpost, the users! Self portraits of the users that is...so get creative and find a way to define you and your photoblogging side...
-------
Rules:
- Must be a self-portrait (get creative though!!!)
- Must be photographed during the timeframe of this contest
- Post a Link to your edited entry in this thread
- Image Size: undecided yet (check back soon)
- One submission per person
- Include the link you want to go with your post (to your photoblog)
- Include a sentence or two (up to a paragraph) about what photoblogging means to you
if a lot of people enter something, the top 10-20 will be displayed on the demo...with your link and blurb of text with the post
----------
ok...lets see what you got!

a few words about photoblogging...
I've always been into photography; I guess it runs in the family. After discovering PixelPost, I became almost ravenously passionate about my photography and that passion eventually spilled into web design. Photoblogging has taught me so much more than just how to take pictures, and it's given me a great community to be a part of, too.

how's that?

maybe asking to be creative is hard for a self-portrait. I always hate my self-portraits

are you your camera?
are you a keyboard?
are you a pile of design books?
are you a pile of php/mysql books?
are you a student?
are you a parent?
are you a desk-jockey?
are you a business suit?
these are things to ask yourself...although my interpretation might get a little lost to some, but i hope it helps

photoblogging is more than a hobby to me these days... although when i first started taking photos i had no idea it would progress this far. photoblogging is my way of sharing the things i see and more importantly, the way i see them.
EDIT: I actually changed my entry to one with a face - cause i noticed mine was the only without a face :S

Here is my submission. It is a sequence of the eyeglasses that I have owned (and sadly worn) for the last 15 years.

Sorry about leaving off that whole "What photoblogging means to me" part. Hope this doesn't sound too sappy:Photoblogging began for me simply as a way of chronicling my life. I used to take daily photos with my Sony CLIE and post them on my photoblog...powered by Blogger at the time. ;)
Since then I have developed a love for photography that is fueled by a desire to creatively capture the amazing beauty of the world around me in a way that hopefully shows others a glimpse of that reality. Tools like PixelPost, the interaction with fellow photobloggers and the example of so many other fine photoblogs are all part of the inspiration.
I do want to get better at taking pictures, but lately I have come to realize that photoblogging is not about making comparisons. It is about developing your own individual style and keeping focused on your reasons for doing it. When it ceases to be fun it is not worth it anymore.

Look up the word "prolific" in the dictionary and you find a photo of Matt Dunmore there. Jeez Matt, 695 photos in your blog. Do you do anything other than take photos, process them and post them?

I've been taking pictures for about 4 years casually. It's a great way of documenting my life, family, and friends. During those years of casual picture taking, a more serious interest of photography grew until I finally decided to do something about it. So I began reading magazines, books dedicated to the art, and browsing a myriad of unique photographer's images. This introduced me to photoblogs. You can learn only so much by reading and watching, so I started one myself to help me grow and get feedback from more experienced photographers. I see photography as a an investment, and will come into play especially when I settle down and start my own family. Photoblogging has definitely provided the medium for me to improve my photography.
On a side note, my server is temporarily a bit slow, however it will pick back up next week when I move it back to the University.

Here's a self portrait (actually, it also includes my better half - but being my better half, what am I without her?) that was a spur of the moment while travelling in Toronto. I'm not entirely convinced about it, but you can be the judge ;)

Photoblogging?...
Photography is where I get to take the world as I know it and crop it as big or small as I want, and compress it down into a flat image, and then say, wow, the world really is amazing and beautiful. pixelmajik [my photoblog] is where I post the fruits of that labour, my offering to anyone who wants to pass by. Each image is an opportunity for a conversation, the first sentence if you will, to which anyone can reply. Perhaps my sentence will inspire someone to create another sentence - and with each utterance we can build shared experiences and epic stories. And if not, well, then I shall compose the epic alone, happy, and welcome spectators to the sport.
Cheers,
Jon

It all started when I couldnt find good images of architecture I like of my own city in the net, so I decided to start a place myself, I didnt known much about blogin but it seemed the best publication method to keep updating, and pixelpost has been a great allied.
That is mine photo:

For me photography is time for relax, sometimes a way of expression and other time just "syntetic" process of making documentation.

I started taking photos when I was 15 years old, the first camera I owned was a Pentax ZX60. I had to referee a lot of u-12 soccer games to buy it, but the hard work was defiantly worth it. That was 3 years ago, by now I've had two semi-pro digital cameras, and have invested many more dollars than I care to think about in photography. My friends ask me, so why do you like to tae pictures all the time? It’s really nothing I can fully explain. The feeling of taking a great shot while your out, the time at home editing your photo, and the last step, posting that photo on your photoblog for all to see. I really enjoy the fact that photobloging is becoming a community, different sites with different photos from all backgrounds.

As to many others photography means relaxation to me. Why a photoblog? Since I'm still a rookie, it's an additional motivation to move on, to get better. Last but not least, pictures are there to be seen. Aren't they?

Hey, I might just have a go at this for the weekend. Will make a great start to my new (and first!) photoblog too - I've been wondering how best to kick things off, and putting something ultimately personal (i.e. me) into the first shot seems as good an idea as any! Call me crazy :)

Write-up: Photoblogging, to me is the easiest and most convienent way to show what I see on a daily basis. Though I have only really had a camera for two years, and an DSLR for about a week, I have always looked at things differently and have finally found a way to show that.
