I know this Addon GeoPositions (http://aclog.ionosfera.com/wordpress-plugins/geopositions/) from WordPress. It would be as well a very usful Addon for my PP fotoblog.

In GeoPositions it is possible to define in the Admin Section the geographic coordinates of places or cities, the "place name", a special "ID" (The special "ID" is useful because than you can use as ID as well shortcuts and not the official name) and the map scale (because sometimes you need a scale of e.g. 1:500.000 and sometimes e.g. 1:1.000.000 on the map display).
Than you can define the services, like Google Maps, Google Earth (KML files), Multimaps.com and MSN Virtual Earth, you like to use.

If I than use a special Tag like Example [GP:Example_ID] in the "Image description / text" in PP I would have automatically a link of the City/Place to the Map (Google Maps, Multimaps,..).

Would a similar addon be possible for PP? It would be like a little x-mas present. :)

Wait a little longer for version 1.5 of pixelpost (coming soon!) and this addon will be easier :)

Thanks for the Info... I will take a deeper look into it but on the first quick look I assume that it would be not the same as I am looking for.

I like this add-on what I am already using in my WP log to link easy the GeoPositions of location/cities, like I have done it there (http://www.ttlive.de/2005/11/23/277) behind the words "Zell am See" and "VV Breda".

I just had to assing the GeoPosition once in the admin section and than it is easy to add it with an certain tag to the text. It would be a great help to use it in the "Image description / text" - specially for e.g. travel photos to link them to a certain GeoPosition as I do it for my PP log now manually here (http://www.foto.ttlive.de/index.php?showimage=51) with e.g. Monaco (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?lat=43.7326&lon=7.4189&scale=500000&icon=x)

I just wanted to bring up this threat again, after we changed to 1.5 now.
The GeoPosition Addon would be amazing. :)
