I only have links to my photoblog here, and at photoblogs.org.
Can anyone recommend other sites?

i actually get a hell of a lot of hits from this forum. but i don't really advertise - my friends know about it and that's enough for me really.

Joe[y], you only get traffic because of the Zombie Goat Porn link! Everyone is wondering what the hell you are up to. Sex sells baby!

so true mate! i should get into marketing. i guess i'd better think up some new sex link sometime - zombie goat porn just isn't pulling as many punters as it used to.

almost all my hits come from here. i'm on photoblogs.org and the photo blogring, but i only get maybe 2 or 3 hits a week from them. i also do a lot of photo challenges (like photofriday.com and the like) and sometimes get up to maybe 40 hits a week from those places, but it's not very consistant. but i don't really try to advertise my site, a lot of people want massive numbers and i am more of a "quality over quantity" type. heh :]

the themed photo comps are great ways to pick up traffic, but i have a major gripe with their system and hardly take part in them anymore...
being active in the photoblog community, helping here, commenting on other blogs, and keeping tabs with photoblogs.org, basically just being a member of what we have going here, is the best way to get yourself known

I just checked my site on Google Analytics (http://www.google.com/analytics/) and have learned that most of my traffic comes from this forum. Granted...I don't get much traffic at all, really... but it's interesting none the less.

apparently in the past month i;ve had 69 hits from google - the majority of people searching for porn - so this is probably why my site is blocked on the school servers...

I get a lot of hits from PhotoFriday.com, other blogs I've commented on, PhotoBlogs magazine (I've got an article there this month), BoingBoing.net (from my Noah's Wish blog entry (http://www.pnjwood.com/fotoblog/index.php?showimage=118) -- over 10,000 hits!), and I expect to get more from Bending Light Magazine, once that gets released -- I've got an article there as well. I'm also back on the hot list at Photoblogs.org, and that generates a lot of hits.
I use Mint for my stats, and that helps a lot to see where people are coming from and what they're doing.

These have all generated great traffic to my site as well. FILE & Snaps Magazine also send a GRIP of traffic when they publish one of my photos. But I do have to agree with posters above...the PP site is one of my top referrers. Especially when I lucked into PPOTW. ;)
The great thing about these "traffic generators" is that their audience is primarily other photographers, making feedback that much more constructive. :D

Oddly enough I get most of my exposure through myspace. I have an image there of a collage of my pictures that links to my photoblog and I get 200-300 people a day from it.
I don't really put other ads than photoblogs.org but I use ping.
I ping pingomatic.com/blo.gs/blogrolling.com
Does anyone know any other sites you can ping in this way? Is it possible to ping sites like photoblogs.org or vfxy using this addon?

majority of my visits come from this forum... The fact I might be a developer and have the latest SVN version on it might something to do with that :D

You can post links to your photoblog's entries almost everyday.
Most of my visitors are from photoblog-community.com or photoblogs.org
When you are in the HOT photoblogs - list at photoblogs.org you will have a lot of visitors, a "few" more when you are at the startpage of photoblogs.org :-).
There are also a few visitors per day from this forum, and there are visitors from google.
Thanks kilmin_a_s for this nice listing!
Most new visitors on my site are coming via photoblogs.org, blimage.de, london.photobloggers.org and also from this forum. Some people seem to find my blog on google.

I think social bookmarking sites like Netscape and digg can give very good traffic along with stumbleupon.:D

StumbleUpon is a great traffic source.
At least for me. :-)
Which demands the question how do you get into the HOT photoblogs?
How to get into the hot photoblogs list:
One person bookmarks your blog at photoblogs.org
-> your site will be in the hot-list for a day or two
-> people who check the hot-list will visit your site, look at your work and maybe like it
-> some people who like your work will add a bookmark
-> more bookmarks will help your site to be in the hot list a bit longer and maybe get into the top 10
-> even more people vist your photoblog
-> and so on
The problem might be the initial bookmark.
Good luck!
p.s. I think photography and photoblogging is not about ranking or being in any hot-list.
If other people like my images, that's great if not, I don't care.

Me too. My question was more about promoting my site, so I can show my work to more people who will appreciate it.
I started my photoblog in college and I still am so my photoblog is hosted on school servers. I started it because I began to take interest in taking photos mostly for memories type deal not for art or to look good. Most of the people who knows my photoblog are friends. Although as time passed on, I got more and more into photography and even started to enter my stuff in PhotoFridays. No noteworthy just yet :p but it's ok I'm still much of an amateur to this as the next guy is.
So far I get my hits from friends and mostly PhotoFridays as well. Hopefully I'll be able to move my stuff to another server and make it a bit more presentable. Anyway, shameless plug in the end ;) : JETCs Photolog (http://web.njit.edu/~jc242/plg/)
