Is there any kind of plugin or hack so PP can be used to post text entries - an 'about' page, or even daily posts like a blog? Can't see anything here.

PP is not a blog, so text is not the main purpose
there is one addon I know about where you can enter text and it will be modified to a graphic file, do a text search
for about-page: you can add any page
a) just adding a normal link from your template
b) or write a template and use the name of the template in the link like this:
<a href="index.php?x=foo">foo</a>
and the template-name in your template-folder must be foo-template.html

This might be a bit of a hairbrained workaround, 'but'.......
What if you created a one pixel .gif image....call it something like 'spacer.gif'. And then upload that as the image any time you wanted a text entry....using the image 'Description' as your text entry.(??)

don't mix apples with pears...
there are many scripts which do what you plan, and PP is not intended to behave like that.
you have the choice !

I've hacked in my own simple blog and integrated it with my Pixelpost site... it's at http://www.xdreamer.org - "Trip 2 Mind" is the blog section... you can contact me for more info.
Pixelpost might not be a blog, but it can include one. :) Oh, and Tinyblob is working on a real add-on for a blog that will probably be better than what I've done.
