I work in the Comm. department for a missions organization and have spent a lot of time recently on the Gulf Coast, one of about three main places I have spent my time this fall..

This picture is a part of a 6 or 7 photo mini-series I am working on and entitling "Christmas on the Gulf Coast". This image was taken in the East Beach Community, 2.5 hours east of New Orleans (30 minutes east of Gulfport). This community used to be fully lavished with beautiful victorian-style homes.
I am trying to capture the essence of what Christmas will be like for many on the Gulf Coast this Christmas. I couldn't believe it when I pulled up to this house and saw the greens hung and a Christmas tree standing at the top of a barren foundation where someone's home once stood. Not 20 ft away from this spectacle is a FEMA RV home.
I (obviously) photoshopped this picture to make it grayscaled and keep the ribbons red. I hope that's allowed in this category. (?)
