Thought it may be helpful for DreamHost users to find out which option they need to change in order to get rid of the upload issue.
Go to Options, then in the Images Path field modify it to show:
/home/username/yoursite.com/images/
Of course change 'username' and 'yoursite.com' to reflect your actual info.
