i've been pondering over why my site isn't listed by google at all these days. i did a search for a cache and it's listed a photo from way back in july last year. does anybody have an idea why my site would be ignored by google? msn absolutely loves my site and i get a huge amount of traffic through it.

Joe, is googlebot still spidering your site? Check your logs.

http://www.google.com/search?q=site:photos.jlspurling.com&num=100&hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-19,GGLD:en&filter=0 shows that Google has 89 pages in the index, but for different URLs. those pages are also in the supplemental index, which is next to useless.

I note you are also doing a javascript redirect from http://www.jlspurling.com to photos.jlspurling.com. It would pay to do a 301 redirect at the web server instead just in case anyone is linking to the www domain.

I'd check that googlebot is still spidering your whole site first though. Your google analytics won't tell you that so you'll need to check the log files themselves.

Joe, there is also a broken link for your Reaction link, which is the link to view comments. Fixing broken links is also a good thing for Googlebot!

good point Spudooli,
301 works. btw, for my webiste 301 took about a month or more for google to restore my rank. maybe a google site map will help you;)

yup - it last hit me today about 4 hours ago.

you might notice how old even the supplemental index is - the most recent one is from june - these pages don't exist anymore.

this is a good point. i changed the redirect to 301.[/QUOTE]
