Maybe it's a bit rude, making my first post a modification request ;-)
But since I've discovered Pixelpost a few weeks ago this has been bugging me:
The possibility to mass-add/remove categories for images is very nice, but not userfriendly.
First you have to select every picture you want to change. Since I'm converting my old Gallery2 site with 4 years of photos, this takes some time. Then, after selecting the category the images belong to, the selection is gone. Now I have to select every picture AGAIN to unset the "default" category.
I would really like to see a "select/deselect all" (on this page) button.

Something along the same line of thinking: I would like to be able to "mass-edit" the image titles/date-times etc. A bit like the images screen is right now, but with textboxes for title date and time for each picture.

I'm willing to code these modifications myself, but at the moment I don't have a clue where to start. It should be an addon, but is this possible for the admin-area?
Can someone point me in the right direction?

Actually... my site is running 1.5beta.
Maybe I'm missing something (with both Firefox and IE), but the things I described (Select/deselect all checkbox, mass-edit picture titles etc.) are not available in my version of 1.5.

Yes I can click the "edit" link for each picture I want to edit, but with hundred of pictures to go... not a good option :-)
I would really like to have the same layout for images, but instead of "fixed" text for title/to-be-published some nice textinput boxes.

Thanks!
I write this now a few months later and I haven't really made any progress with creating the "edit images" addon. But I will have a look at that plugin. It may help to find out how to create an admin-addon. If I ever find the time...

Another annoying quirk from the edit images screen is the impossibility to delete more than one image at a time. After deletion (or in fact: after any editing on this page) it returns to the first page. This really does NOT work when you want to delete a lot of duplicate images.

i agree. right now we're working on establishing 1.5 as a stable release but as soon as we open a new devlopment release i'm gonna push for a lot more flexiblity and usability with editing images, especially in mass.

Is there any chance that we'll get a Mass Edit option soon? Like the OP, I had to re-upload all of my images (server crash), and now face the daunting task of re-titling all of the images.

I've used the mass category edit, and upload from directory feature, and that saved some time, but not being able to change titles or times en masse hurts.

http://forum.pixelpost.org/showthread.php?t=4523 may help as well

the usability of pixelpost will be improved between v1.5 and v2.0, this is a major goal of the dev team

however, pixelpost isnt really a system designed arond moving 4 years of a gallery over, its more of a photo a day system, designed for photobloggers to start fresh or move off another photoblog system...an addon for a better way to import a mass amount of photographs would be helpful to some, but 95% of users artn coming from this direction
