View Full Version : IE yes, Firefox oh no.
I have looked through previous threads about this but I seem to have the opposite problem. I tweaked the simple template and have it looking and doing more or less what I want in IE but in Firefox it looks like crap. I've no idea where I am going wrong. I know you all must be completely out of patience with this sort of prob but if some kind soul will take pity...

Thanks for that link, Blink. When I tried to use that validator, I couldn't get past their default Japanese page (which made things more complicated than they had to be).
In the meantime, I've gone right back to the original templates, un-tweaked and re-tweaked. Now this is weird: I've got everything looking semi-presentable in my IE browser and in my Firefox browser but in my husband's Firefox browser, the archive page still looks rubbish. How can that be?

fred. you still have 17 html validation errors... including an unknown doctype. be very careful with your modifications - because it is certainly these errors that are screwing stuff up for you.
Clear husband's Firefox browser cache :)
Thanks, all of you. It seems to be semi-presentable now in both browsers and I don't want to touch it again for fear of screwing it up all over. I'll have another go when I'm feeling brave enough.
Geos, thanks for the suggestion but the ball-and-chain's browser is sacred and not for IE users to tamper with. Will pass on your idea though.
Problem with cache in FireFox can depend also from server (not only, like IE, from browser).
