colon to dot([:] --> [.])

Hi. The exif tags in my photography are read ok, but there is only 1 glitch.
The date tag in the photo is like 2002.12.03, but when it reads it and shows it on the webpage, it is like 2002:12:03. where can I change the colon to dot? i tried looking it in the exif.php and other files, but there is nothing I can do. Can someone help me?

I would suggest to find some information at the website of the EXIF-developers, http://www.offsky.com/software/exif/index.php
as we use this script but did not write it ;=)
