Hi,

I am new to the forum and I am having trouble getting Pixelpost installed on my server. I have read the FAQs and all the tutorials I could find but nothing seems to apply to anyone having their own webserver.

I have prepared a document at http://www.p-price.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

with screenshots showing exactly what I have done. It is brief and concise.

Please can someone have a quick look to point me in the right direction?

Thanks a lot.

Regards

upgrade to 1.5beta - look in version releases forum section for it...

it's compatible with php5

did you ever install something on that IIS server?
Explorer then says that cannot find page???!! means that your server is not running properly and does not recognize the path and the php file.

Did you put ALL files from archive to server's root directory (or you mised some)??

Does http://localhost/index.php work??

Joe,

Thanks for your reply. I think my server may be at fault. I will try it on another server. I will probably try the beta too.

Thanks

No it doesn't work. Yes, I did put all the files in the server's root directory.

I think my server may be at fault. I will try it on another PC first.

Thanks.

Try the WAMP-server: http://www.en.wampserver.com/
Windows, Apache, MySQL, PHP. It works for me (testserver).

Hi Eon,

I already decided to go down this route. I removed IIS and installed the apache web server. I am following the tutorial at http://www.ricocheting.com/server/
which is very good. Though this is installing the applications individually.

I found a very similar product to the above at:
http://www.sokkit.net/pragmacms/index.php?layout=main&cslot_1=2

but I am nearly finished doing the 'real' way :)

Thanks.

Thanks a lot for all those comments as it help me get Pixelpost installed. I now have 1.5 Beta working well.

I got it working by installing the Apache web server on a spare XP computer using the tutorial at http://www.ricocheting.com/server/. this is exellent the only change I made was to install the MySQL administrator rather than PHPadmin. It was very easy.

Thanks again.
