No one has seen this problem or error message?
Today I did not get an error message with my image upload, just no thumbnail. I did howere figure out that by going into the Options menu and clicking on the Re-generate thumbs button, that it will add the thumbnail to the browse menu.

I presume you upgraded from version 1.4

Does your database have a table called pixelpost_config?

Did you "go to your site and open /admin/install.php" - install.php will add one more table to the database

Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply!
I did upgrade as you can see on the top post. I did run the install.php file. I am pretty sure that I watched as it said it created another table. How can I find this out for sure?
Today when uploading picture, I got the error message. No thumbnail generated.
I used the Re-generate thumbs button and thumbnail was made. Anyone have more suggestions? Thanks

How can I find this out for sure?
Use phpMyadmin or something similar from your website's control panel and look into the pixelpost database

Sorry, but could you maybe explain a little more? I see nowhere in the Admin section to look at the database tables? Thanks!

Not the pixel post admin section - I am saying about the the admin panel which is usually provided by the hosting company

I did find out how to get into PhpMyAdmin. I do have a table in the database called Pixelpost_Config. Anything special that I need to look for? Thanks
Chris

I've got exactly the same error messages as cds did.

I upgraded 1.5 beta from 1.4.3.

I checked MySQL database, and found a new database called 'pixelpost_config'.

The problem is that I get the same error messages every time I post a new image. The new image post can be done after several tries.

How can I avoid this problem? Does anyone get the same error messages?

Please give me a hint.

Thank you.

Check if upload time or script execution time is not too long (if I good remember standard settings for first is 30s and for second also 30s).

GeoS, thanks for a reply.

Well, I am not quite sure what you're saying. How can I check the upload time or script execution time?

Yes, as you mentioned, the upload time is too long.

Thank you.

If you use FF as browser there is FosterFox plugin. It counts time used to get page (quite easy to get and use). Its simply but gives enough data.

PS Try to turn off admin_ping.php addon for a while (to test upload of 1-2 images).

I turned off admin_ping.php from my server, I can post images without any error messages. Thanks a lot, GeoS.

By the way, is admin_ping.php necessary?

admin_ping.php is not necessary to have turned on or installed. Basically, when you post new images, admin_ping.php is called and sends out information to a few websites letting them know you have updated your blog. In turn, these websites will display your website address in a list of recently updated blogs. In essence, it helps bring traffic to your website.

So, while its not necessary to have, it is a nice feature.

As a bypass to admin_ping.php I use the services of http://feedburner.com it not only pings a host of services it also presents your RSS is a browser friendly manner if someone where to view it in the browser (yeah people do ;) )

Oh! it also keeps stats of clicks on RSS items and readership....

there is also a mint stats addon of feedburner, seem some people using it pretty heavily. very cool tool. i havent played with feedburner much, i like my normal everyday rss feed, but for those that like it all in the browser it's def cool.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Couple of questions though.
How can I turn off admin_Ping.php?
Can it be deleted using something like Filezilla?
My problem is that everytime I upload an image, the thumbnail is not generated. Most of the time, I get no error messages. It will just post the main image and the thumbnail with not be there. The only way to get the thumbnail is to use the Re-generate thumbnail button. Thanks for any more help!

when logged in as admin, go under the ADDONS tab and look for admin_ping.php

you should see an off button. click it and admin_ping will turn off.

Thanks. I am a little slow with this. I turned it off and no errors with thumbnail creation today.

Again, these boards and a few key folks come through with a fast solid answer. I had the same issue with the admin ping situation. The thing that is strange is that all was fine for weeks before the issue manifested itself. I will look into some of the other services mentioned. Thanks all!
