View Full Version : All images browse not working?

I just noticed that the all-images view, category, and pages, arent working on my Pixelpost site. What's odd is that the photoblog itself, the one-image-at-a-time part, still works fine.
I don't know when this started, but I'm guessing it's when I updated my Wordpress install on the site to 2.0.1. That's the only thing I've done that could have affected it, at least as far as I know.
Here's the site: http://www.nachde.net/pixelpost/index.php?x=browse&pagenum=1
Any ideas? I'm totally baffled on this one :(

Anyone? I even tried upgrading to 1.4.3 and it didnt change anything...
Try to update to 1.5Beta - it solves a lot of problems.

On a whim, I changed away from my custom template to one of the included ones--and it works. I have no idea why--nothing changed on my template, nor, to my knowledge, anything else in the files or database, but yeah, there it is.
Any clue how this could have happened? Or what could be wrong with my template?
Maybe your template isnt valid any more?

I can't figure out what would have changed to make it freak out though...

Well first of all, you need to fix your CSS file. You have tons of errors.
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http://www.nachde.net/pixelpost/templates/custom/style.css
And your browse_template (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.nachde.net/pixelpost/templates/custom/browse_template.html) has errors. Most of those would be fixed if you added a DOCTYPE and character encoding. A few other minor tweaks and it should validate.
The same goes for your image_template (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.nachde.net/pixelpost/templates/custom/image_template.html).
And your about_template (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.nachde.net/pixelpost/templates/custom/about_template.html) can't even be verified period until you fix a something on or around line 44.
I didn't check your comment_template, but I'm sure there will be some errors there too.
So first off, you should be fixing all these errors. Then, once you have done that, check into the thumbnail problem.

Those are from one of the default pixelpost templates. My original one was 100% compliant, but when it randomly decided to stop working, I used this one as a stopgap until I can get my original one back up...

The above are referring to the "custom" template within your "custom" folder. i did not check validation of the simple template.

I stand corrected then. I thought I'd run it through the validator like I did my wordpress template.
Regardless, that doesn't change that it was working fine for six months then up and crapped one day. I don't think a CSS error did that.

A CSS error can certainly do this. If your divs are not working or displaying properly, then the content within them will not display correctly or in worst case, not display at all. Even if these errors are not the problem, they need to be fixed. You could leave them, but some browsers might not display your site correctly. Once you get your templates validated, then we can work at the tag not displaying your thumbnails correctly. for all i know, the thumbnails are there, but the div is not showing them.
Mine also just recently broke. I notice that the thumbnails are showing cgi.php instead of index.php....
This is the problem and not sure if yours is similar...
I have no idea how this just suddenly happened...and no idea how to fix...
Anyone know why cgi.php suddely started popping up for $PHP_SELF?
Maybe your ISP made some strange UPDATE?? Talk with their helpdesk.
Is it maybe a binary/acii ftp-problem?

Maybe your ISP made some strange UPDATE?? Talk with their helpdesk.
That's my bet.
At this point, I'm just not worrying about it. The site is coming down in a month or so anyways, and I've made the included template work to my satisfaction, so I'm just gonna call it done. Thanks for the help guys!
