General question about Anti-spam addons

I initially started using pixelpost 1.4.3 and then upgraded to 1.5Beta.

My question is, in the addon section, is it necessary to have both anti-spam scripts on?

Pixelpost Anti-Spam (referer_spam - version 1.0)

and

Pixelpost Anti-Spam (anti_spam - version 2.0)

I see one says anti-spam, and another says referer-spam. Do they do the same thing or is each one different?

1.5 Beta have own antispam tools so you can try for a while run it without additional addons.

Thats what I had figured. As long as the built in anti-spam feature performs the same tasks as the two add-ons mentioned in my first post, then I don't see the need to keep the addons active.
