View Full Version : Consistently Bumped Out Of Admin?

I searched this forum and see at one point early in the beta, there was an issue with staying in the admin pages. I didn't see what was the result. Mine is especially bad on the addons admin page (I am completely unable to change any settings as I'm bumped out of the admin screen anytime i press a form button.). It seems to stay in admin if I'm adding photos or updating previous photos, but any other screens shoot me back to the login page. Also, if I don't do anything for more than 30 seconds to a minute on the images admin pages, I'm bumped out as well...
Any ideas?? (I've tried deleting cookies & cache, happens same in Firefox and IE...)
ALSO- My Pixelpost site is very slow! I've removed all EXIF calls in index.php and have enabled mod_gzip compression on the pages, but the page loads slowly...even compared to other pages on the server...
example -
my Pixelpost: http://www.spipasucci.com/pixelpost/index.php
my homepage:
http://www.spipasucci.com
blog:http://www.spipasucci.com/blog
As you can see, the homepage and blog are markedly faster than my pixelpost pages...ANY IDEAS?
Thanks!!

Removed a few addons to see if those were slowing things down (I don't remember having this issue at first but just over the past few weeks...)
Using Firefox, I have the lori (life of request info) extension nstalled. According to that, the delays all occur before even the first byte is downloaded from the server (I'm getting between 10 and 40 seconds from click to first byte loaded)...
I also noticed that the longer I click around the site, the shorter the delay seems to get (but it never gets real fast)... Also, lori extension tells the number of requests...Generally it looks like 2 and sometimes 3 requests are made per page. If I simply refresh a page, that number jumps to 17! Could this be a mySQL issue? I saw a few threads about PP1.5 making extra or possibly uneccesary calls to mySQL. My blog also uses mySQL (WordPress 2.0) and doesn't seem to be slow, so I don't think it's my connection to the database...
Baffled...Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated...

Looks like removing the ANTI-COMMENT SPAM addon helped the most. The site is still a little slower than I'd like and I still have the issue of getting bumped out of Admin mode, but I think the heaviest slowdown came from the ANTI SPAM addon. Has anyone else noticed this issue?
Thanks...

Logging out can be connected with losing SESS_ID and getting new one with empty login data. Check if an addon dont do that for you.
About speed. I also found that admin_ping slows down pixelpost at image upload process but (IMHO) its related with connecting to outside servers and pinging them (I didnt check my theory yet).
Other issues with speed I didnt find.

Checking the site today... The speed issue seems to be lessened (it's definitely faster than the previous week...). Geos - I'll have to look into the Session issue on the admin screen issue...Thanks for the tip!

real-time pinging will always slow down the uploading. That's a cost.
In the big brother software, Wordpress, this was an issue in 1.5 and they fixed with some delayed pinging in 2.0!
