Tags are keywords that are used to describe and to find specific data. This data can be written or spoken articles, pictures, music, it can be everything that can be described! Tags are the description of a piece of data. The more accurate this description is, the better the tags are, the better the search results will be. After going through the process of tagging, each piece of data is equipped with different tags that make it easy for somebody searching for a picture that displays “mortadella”, “ham” and “breakfast” in some “mediterranean” way to find the picture on the right (click on it and look at the tags!). With tags, it is much easier to find exactly what you want by simply describing it; you do not have to search through categories, you just find things by describing what you are searching for!
Tags are keywords that make it easy to find specific content.

Right now there are no tags in Pixelpost - just categories - but from users point of view Categories can work very much like Tags.... See my site - I simply call the categories tags ;)
That said - we do need another system in Pixel post to create *sets* which is what the current categories + GeoS category addon are accomplishing and then a system for tagging...

no tags system is in place for pixelpost at the moment, it has been discussed and something that I am in favor of down the road being built into pixelpost, as i'd favor it over the category system for some things...
I think tinyblob had started an actual tags addon...not sure of its status though.
there is a "category" cloud addon which looks like tags, but the words are just generated from assigned categories

Yeah, I was wondering if it could be achieved by an addon. I am sure someone will come up with something.

@tinyblob - have you got anything done? I was planning a tags addon as well... using the FreeTag library, would hate to repeat the same things....

I was thinking that also "FreeTag library" would be great... if only I could write code.
I can't seem to find the addon 8's was talking about "category" cloud

@LJ It is called (not so) strangely enough Weighted Archieves - I have also integrated it into my meta-categories browser addon.

tinyblob hasnt been around much lately, I would try emailing him through the forum or PM
I would love to see an addon, and if it's solid like I see it in my head, it's on my wishlist for a built in feature down the road.
