Hi Pixelpost gurus,

I'm new to Pixelpost and I'm currently trying to to setup my site using Pixelpost 1.5. I have some basic questions about the application and instructions. If anyone could answer them I'll be really glad. (they may sound silly for you  )

What is CHMOD?
Why should I grant Read-Write-Execute permission to some folders?
Where to find new addons?
I want Pixelpost in my language. Is it possible?
What do you mean by referer spam? and What is Comment spam then? aren't they the same?
Does Pixelpost support Akismet for preventing spams?
Do you recommend a hosting service for Pixelpost?
Is there any free hosting service on the net that setups things automatically, like wordpress.com?

ops! a long list of questions. I hope I can get answers to some.

1) just wrote an entry to our faq (in the making) for you:

http://www.raminia.com/ppwiki/index.php/What_is_CHMOD%3F

2) explained in the link as well.

3) pixelpost.org/v1 has an extensive range of addons available for download.

4) absolutely, pixelpost is released with various language files but if you wish you can create your own quite easily. version 1.5 is to be released soon and will allow the administration side of pixelpost to run in different languages as well.

5) pixelpost provides you with a list of 'referers' in your administration panel - these tell you what sites link to you. referer spam refers to made up websites pretending to link to you. comment spam on the other hand is actually when you receive spam in the form of comments on your images.

6) it is in the process of it.

7) www.eleven2.com is highly recommended and supports pixelpost users. check the section of the forum entitled 'pixelpost hosting' for more info.

8) no. none worthy of mentioning that i know of.

answers are easy... in future have a look around more yourself. there is a forum search option and things like finding addons are linked on our front page.. these should have been easy to have found yourself. all these questions are answered every day.
