so I've got my database, did what I needed to do in dreamhost to get my photoblog started, yet I still can't install.

www.withgrace.net

where do I change the chmod to 777? I use windows FTP to upload my files.

Thanks!

does dreamhost have cpanel? if it does, you can do it from there, in the file manager ("change permissions")

- ask your host admin to do that.
- if you have cpanel click on the images and thumbnails folders and see the possible options. one of them is permissions. set it to read/write/execute (777)

I am using dreamhost with pixelpost.

Easiest way I think to set permissions (with any web host - not just dreamhost ) is to grab a copy of filezila. ftp to your directories (image and thumbnails) right click on them and type 777 - - that's it.

Let me know if you need any more help - especially anything unique to dreamhost.

get file zila here

sigh.

I've been able to change the chmod to 777, I still can't install. I'm at my wits end.

I keep getting a HTTP 404. I've checked the DB, passwords, host, everything. I don't get it.

I have installed it for you because it was public accessible (installation process also was public accessible). Ive sent you login data on PM.

At: http://www.withgrace.net/
I see: Coming Soon! Nothing to show. No image to show here!

So login here http://www.withgrace.net/admin/ with data which Ive sent to you, change your pass and login and post some images for us :)

Have fun.

please configure your webspace that directories without index-files won't show the content in the browser,

directory-listing: off

if you cannot do that (for example in CPANEL), ask your hoster

it is a security hole
