I got a free host and bought a domain because I always wanted to try out pixel post. However I have had problem after problem installing it. I have read all of the tutorials and browsed these forums but none of which has helped.

Here is the problem:
I changed the permissions to pixelpost to 777 like instructed. But when I go to
http://mydomain.com/pixelpost/admin/install.php it gives me a scripting error. Specifically, "premature end of script headers: install.php | directory is writable by others. Error 500: Script Execution Failure."

If I just go to my domain home http://www.mydomain.com, the page is fine and gives me the proper index. It is only when I try to access and continue with pixelpost is it giving me problems.

I'm sorry, I'm not a technie expert and I really need some help!!!! Anyone?!?!!

what actually is your domain name?

also, error 500 isn't a pixelpost error - at least not one i know of! it would appear your host is having problems with the script. do you know if you have the correct requirements. ie, php version and mysql version.

hey joe,

My host server is Awardspace.com and I got my domain from GoDaddy.

My domain name is www.paradisephoto.org

Yes, I can see that the scripting error is "internal" but I have no idea what it could possibly be. Everything looks right.... Awardspace supports both php and mysql. It says in my info that those are:
PHP version 4.4.1
Perl version 5.8.4
MySQL version 4.0.24

Does that help?

free hosters do use socalled "wrappers" to limit scripting etc.

as long as you are on a free server, you should ask them which restrictions exist for installing scripts, using and accessing databases, files and folders, configuring rights for files etc.

if you have that information, we might be able to help you
but remember: a free hoster webspace is mostly always a sandbox, not real life :=)
