Today I learned that one of the visitors of my blog (www.luonnoskirja.net) is unable to see my pictures. She said she's getting an error: "You don't have permission to access /images/20060508161325_web_kevaanmerkit01.jpg"

She even sent me some screen captures:

After asking around a little bit another visitor reported the same problem, only without any error messages. Pictures just didn't show up for her. BOTH of these visitors tried to view the page with explorer AND firefox. Still no results.

I have "777" permissions set to my images and thumbnails folders. Most of the people I asked are telling me that everything is loading as expected. What's going on?

I upgraded from 1.4.2 to 1.4.3 just about a week or two ago.

Here's my General Info from Admin panel:

Oh, oh! I possibly figured out a solution already. It might have something to do with hotlink configuration of my webspace... Watch this space...

but hotlink protections means that it is not allowed to load your images from another URL

do you have your blog on anohher location than the images-folders?

it wouldn't be the first time i've seen hotlinking screw up inside one domain ... often has something to do with subdomains or simply just how the image source is called.

After allowing direct requests, the other visitor who had problems earlier reported that everything is working for her now. Yet I have not received a confirmation from the visitor who spotted the problem in the first place. I hope she'll reply.

I still have a hotlink protection turned on with a list of "allowed" addresses. I hope it'll be enough of a protection.

edit: Connie, the blog and the image folder are both on the same location.
