Hi,

a short period of time i had no spam, because
i installed the Akismet-Addon.

But the last 3 weeks the SH** starts again. I get mails like:

Join the fight - report the SPAM to Akismet. It will stop soon

i'm not sure if reporting to akismet as an instant effect as it probably takes time for all this info to be compiled their end - give it a chance. that's all i can really say.

Can we have something like one needs to enter a code displayed when making comment? That would probably solve the problem, how do we do that?

I also made a comment "protection" on my PP, if you want to check :

I you want me to explain the way to get the proctection working, PM (I haven't made an addon since no one seems really interested by my way of protecting the comments ;))

I see that you've now put CAPTCHA ;)
THe main difference betwen CAPTCHA and my solution is that CAPTCHA is not really usable by persons with visual impairement. Well I guess that a photoblog as very few blind visitors but I still prefer to follow the W3C recommandations and put a text CAPTCHA instead of a picture ;)

great idea but missing something i think - i personally would use this idea on every form i ever created if you made the logical questions be randomly pulled from an array of questions/answers - practically rendering it almost impossible for spammers to attack... obviously, the more question/answer combinations you use the harder it would be for a spammer (robot) to break in.

Well it's not actually my own idea but a W3C recommendation instead of CAPTCHA.
I agree with you that a random question would be the best thing to do, when I will take time to make a proper PP addon, then I will try to find a simple way to add questions and to put them randomly.
I should get some time in the comming weeks so I'll try to make tis addon ;)
