I'm getting an incredible number of bot-spams everyday... is there any way to filter the " | " in the comment text, instead of just URLs?
Good design!

you could just add | to your banlist in spam control (admin) but it's a very vague restriction.
have you tried the akismet addon?

Using Akismet addon is a bit more involved than that - Please see the first post in the thread for Akismet addon

I will try that addon. I'm getting 10+ spam entries a day.. it's incredibly annoying. Thank you.

Hello,
I need help badly!!! I too am receiving TONS od spam!!! maybe 1000 a day!!! it's incredible!! I have upgraded to PP1.5 and installed Askimet. I now see a "report spam to askimet" button in my comments file; BUT... it has become impossible to manage... I get so much spam that I can't check them out one at a time, I need to use the "check all" button.. .BUT... then, it is soooo hard to locate the REAL comments among all that... Also, I've been reporting spam to Askimet for a week now, and I am getting more and more! I am really not good at computers at all, and not a native english speaker, so I may have missed something in the askimet user manual... How does it work exactly?? Please, someone : HEeeelp!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

at the bottom of the page choose 1000 comments perpage. then press go. now you see all comments at once. Click on select all button, Click report spam to akismet now

Well, thank you very much raminia, that's what I do... And that's what I don't like doing.. cause I thought I wouldn't have to delete spam manually with askimet... So, if I understand well, askimet needs me to report spam all the time and never understand by itself that it is spam??? (i am talking of very basic spam, casino, texas etc.)
besides, if someone writes a true comment between 2 spam mailing, when I view 1000 at a time, I have trouble finding this one comment among them... it's time consuming... So.. no solution??

if the are marked yellow then the are set as moderated spams by akismet. they will be deleted (as I assume).
BTW, take a look here as well

Thank you raminia; yes, when I report the spams they are yellow, and yes, I can delete them in the moderation queue. .. What I was talking about was more that I still get hundreds of NEW spams (not yellow, not red, normal colour) that appear on my blog every day. I am definitly taking a look at this other thread!!! thank you very much!
BTW: to run your fix, do I have to uprgrade to 1.5 RC1 (I am running 1.5 now)?

yes.
but you may also use the most essential part (jscript) in 1.4.3. just by slight modification in my code. contact me and I'll tell you.
Instead of working on hacked up addons how about actually auditing the PixelPost codebase for SQL injection vulnerabilities and make sure EVERY input variable is sanitized?

what do you think are we doing?
We ignore everything and don't care about spam, for sure

So which SQL Injection vulnerabilities have been fixed in the latest released version that exists in the 1.4 versions?
