I've just moved my photolog from 1.4.3 to 1.5 because of SPAM, and all the comments (french) moved in an incromprehensible language (the accents became a strange code) :(
I've posted a new comment all it's all rigth for this comment.
Question : how can I repair this "bug" without rewrite my 137 texts ?
The blog : www.afleurdenet.com/journalexime (http://www.afleurdenet.com/journalextime/)
An exemple of the bug : http://www.afleurdenet.com/journalextime/index.php?showimage=146
Sorry for my english

Minza,
we had this topic many times already and I am a little tired of that already...
please read the forum.
It is because PP is more strict on the character sets now than it was before
the best is to edit the texts in admin / images section

Connie,
Thanks a lot for answer so fast.
I readed the forums before to post my trhead, but I didn't find a correct answer, exept to edit each post and rewrite them what seems very long (in french we have lots of accents) :(
But your answer shows that there is actualy any other solution.
Thanks again and sorry for this thread.

Minza,
no sorry please!
But we promise that you will not run into this trouble anymore!
the only possible problem can arise when a user writes a comment with a browser with fixed characterset ... even when the templates define UTF-8, the input can come false from a browser which does not autodetect the characterset of the page, but this we cannot influence...
have a good day!

You can look at the wiki, there is an explanation concerning this bug.

Hello Minza,
I am having exactly the same problem... And i didn't dare posting a new thread about it because, like you, I have read all the other ones... so I knew there was no miracle solution to the bug... Anyway, I am glad you did; even if I have the slight feeling that Connie didn't appreciate much ;) (kidding Connie, I completly understand how tiring it can be...) . The thing is, that when you are not a native english speaker (even if you speak a little bit of english); sometimes, you need to confirm what you think you understood in the previous threads... Well, Minza, I also have quite a lot of posts (and accents) on my blog and I am going to look into the wiki and see if I can find a solution... If you find any way to fix that, could you please write it here? I'll do the same if I find one.. thanks!

Ok, here is the link to the wiki:
http://wiki.pixelpost.org/index.php?title=After_upgrading_to_1.5%2C_%C3%BC%2 C_%C3%B6%2C_%C3%A4%2C_%C3%A9_have_problem:_UTF-8_for_older_comments
The thing is, you also have to make sure your computer is set to "europe occidentale (ISO)" in "Codage". And for me, it has fixed all the old posts!!! only the new posts, posted since I have installed pp1.5, have turned out with "?" instead of accents. But they were fewer so I was able to fix them easily.
Glad I found a solution on the wiki! thank you beghinre!

in the long run it is quicker to change old posts to utf-8

I have another question: the wiki fix works for the posts, but not for the comments which still get "?" instead of accents... (I mean the new comments/ the old one are fixed)
Do you know where I can add PHP codes to allow accents in the comments?
Thanks for your help!
