Hello,

There is nothing in the readme about upgrading from 1.5 Beta to RC1.
Is there a specific procedure as with upgrading 1.3 or 1.4?

Regards,
Jason

Hi,
just copy the files of the RC1 over Beta.

Thank you for the quick reply. However, can you please detail which files are absolutely necessary for the upgrade? I don't want overwrite the templates that I have made custom tweaks on.

Thank you,
Jason

Connie, Thanks for the reply! I did as you have indicated and also copied the info from the old pixelpost.php to the new file, but would only get a blank white page when trying to access the normal URL. Any idea how to fix that?

Thank you,
Jason

are there any templates???
can you open the admin section?
a simple copy to the server and the old data in pixelpost.php = I did this more than 20 times already and it works, there is nothing dangerous

but maybe you have renamed the template folder?

please tell us the URL

Connie, Thank you for your assistance! The url is:

http://www.thesefleetingmoments.com

However, I've already put the old files back. I am the server
admin (Win2k/IIS) so I just pasted the files over, no need to
FTP. After the rc1 files are pasted over, am I supposed to
to go to the Admin page before anything else?

Thank you,
Jason

Hi GeoS,

I've pasted the old files back, so it's working on the old beta files not RC1. After pasting the new files, is there anything to do in the admin section to make it take effect?

Regards,
Jason

1) edit the "new" pixelpost.php and enter the database-data there
2) keep aware of your templates if they have the same names as the standard templates which come with PP
3) upload everything to the folder at the server, overwrite the old files with the new files
4) if you have a blank page, take care of the following:

- is template folder there, is template aktive?
- is there a language file? if not it will be blank as well
- check the rigths. Even with WIN Servers, right do matter

I cannot imagine anything which can cause this problem as we (and others) did this minor upgrade very often already

Thank you for the help guys! Ok, I found the problem, I was missing a ";" in pixelpost.php. So that part of the upgrade went smooth. However, now I can not login to the admin page. After putting in my user/pass I get a page not found error. Where you enter user/pass info it says:

Notice: Undefined variable: loginmessage in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\herrclauseman\admin\index.php on line 229

And at the top of the admin login page are the following notices:

Notice: Undefined index: view in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\herrclauseman\includes\function s.php on line 513

Notice: Undefined variable: pinglist in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\herrclauseman\addons\admin_ping .php on line 100

did you clean the cache of the browser?
does this happen with all browsers?
